I just purchased a pair of Gaerne G-RS's after buying Teknic Chicanes (horrible) and Sidi B-2's!
Wow! They are fantastic! I wont go into too much detail, but they are the most comfortable out of the alpinestars, sidis, and teknics that I've tried on.. Plus the ankle support is almost equivalent to that of a ski boot, and I dont have to do the duck walk
But my question is, as I've pondered this for a while now and searched google without any success, WHAT THE HELL IS THE PURPOSE OF TOE SLIDERS AND HEEL SLIDERS!?! are they important? or just for show?

Ah ok. I was under the impression that the toe sliders are just for looks as if people purposely put their foot down to drag the titanium sliders..
What exactly is the 100hp mod? Bigger engine? lol
No they're really good for protecting your boot and your feet when you fall and also when your boot scrapes too.

Just like knee sliders, except for the toes... any decent set of toe sliders will be replaceable, just like kneepucks.
Yep, toe sliders can save your toes. On a related note, a pair of steel-toed boots saved my toes when I low-sided on an SV650:

What is it with laces on boots people ride in - and for pete's sake laces on things claiming to "be" motorcycle boots. Not a good thing, at all.
Youngsters, look up Isadora Duncan, and swap neck for foot, and laces for scarf. Then add a chain as another place for the laces to get caught in.
Shopping for new (lace-free) boots myself. My red and stainless HiPoint ProGP MX boots that I got as road boots with serious attitude worked better on the UJM seating position of the Maxim/Seca and are a bit stiff for the GS, which seems to want a bit more angle than they bend to. I could stand a bit less plastic, too - it constrained the leather too much and it has cracked inbetween where it has to take up all of what little bending they do. But that stainless shinguard is the best thing in boots - I'll be sorry to lose it, but I'm not going for MX boots on the street this time (and those are all plastic these days anyway.)
