ebay is your best bet used but the one person I know who installed the r6 tail suggested using a racing tail (they're one peice-the stock ones are hollow under seat and can crack easily).

Ebay wil run you $50-$100 for the tail, less seat, taillight (if needed) etc. Dont know what racing bodywork will cost. If you can score one cheap on ebay that's the way to go-be patient.

I have one I got off eBay I'm letting go of. Planned on installing it, but I'm selling the GS (http://www.gstwins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4312), so I don't need the tail anymore. I payed $58 for the tail and shipping and I'll let it go for the same (that includes the shipping assuming your in the lower 48 ). Has some road rash, but nothing that can't be fixed up. Can send you photos if you're interested.

Anyone besides pantablo have a how-to on this? I dont like the straight look of my 95 and a nice curvy rear looks great on a bike..and even better on a girl!  :thumb:

I'm going for this R1 tail, all the other R6 and R1 tails have no support where the seat would be and dont include a seat cushion! I am just wondering if this will fit well with the tank, I guess if not I can sell it back on ebay.

you'll have to trim the front part at tank on that tail. stock ones dont have that. should be doable though...you'll be doing lots of cutting though, on this tail and on the stock underfender...

will look badass-the picture on my site is of an r1 tail (from Spaz's bike-more pics in wall of fame).

I got the how-to from Gudly, a former member (sold bike), who had done it.
