Using search, I found one hit for tire changing by typing in "MARC Parnes", but not much more. Is it common for GS500 users to do their own tire swaps? I do mine on other bikes and its not at all hard if you have the "stuff". I use an elCheap-O Harbor Freight changer stand modified with NoMar plastic rim grips. I use a MoJo Lever (Preston Drake) to demount and remount, plus NoMar extra hands and homemade lube. Although it seems to be the "in thing" to use Dyna Beads to balance, I use a Metzeler balance stand and am also familiar with the Marc Parnes axle. I have a nice set of NoMar spoons and they are neat too, but the MoJo is faster and less stress on the tire (less $ too). BTW, Preston Drake is having a closeout sale on his tire changer stand right now - if any are still left. Any other "nuts" here?

I went to your link and the WARNING! sort of scared me off. I will go back when I have more time to wait for my slug 'puter to absorb all of that download time.

I change my tires here. I break the bead with the tip of a forklift fork, then finish the bead with a modified screwdriver. Once off the bead seats, I remove the tire with three homemade tire irons forged out of 4130.
I balance my wheels using their bearings and axles. Never had a vibration problem yet. :thumb:
