okay, so i got my bike and is totally stock as far as i can tell. haven't had a whole lot of chances to ride it between the weather and the fact that i only have temp-tags, but here's the deal. the bike won't start at all with the choke on. i pulled the plugs and they look a little dark to me, but i'm no expert on reading plugs. it will start without the choke, so i assume that means i'm running rich already. how can i tell if the carb has been rejetted already, or should i just assume it has and throw a k&n filter on. is this something i should even be worried about? it runs fine (as far as i can tell) once it's warmed up.
anyone?
You may be rich...but that's only at idle...you never know what the rest of the rpm is like. Now someone may have pulled the brass plugs and fiddled with the air screw (do you know if that is the case or not) so you are rich down low but that means nothing at the top end. You also may have an air filter that is so dirty it allows only 20% of normal air flow...mkainf it act like its rich...take it off and put a clean one on and you may not be rich anymore.
Cool.
Srinath.
