I was cruising through the local craigslist, and this thing came up. Anybody ever been on one or even heard of it???

a variant of the KLR 650 i believe http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/buyersguide/Kawasaki-KLR600-KLR650-KLR650-Tengai.htm
Huh, kinda cool I guess. Like the honda transalp or something.
I've always thought the KLR 650's were pretty homely. VERY purposeful, but homely. I would take the 100 MPG diesel version if and when it was ever available. I read a write-up on that in CW. They tested the military version. They said the thing that was hardest to get used to was that it required no throttle to get it rolling--just ease out the clutch, even on slight grades! Torque-O-plenty!
got a link??
At the end of this segment, you get a bit about the military DIESEL version.

I'm pretty sure this is the company that was going to make the civilian engine IF/WHEN it actually happens.

...I guess it's the flywheel and not as much the torque that allows for the throttle free starts.
nope
