got a chance to ride a new GSX650F, what a sweet bike. It is so smooth it's almost scary, even as low as 3000 rpms just roll on the throttle to power out of any curve. I have read all the reports about the excessive weight, but there was no evidence of it to me while standing still or when cornering, and felt great at cruising speed. I got a chance to get into the throttle, was at 65 before I could blink without any wheel loft, never felt squirelly at any speed. I never felt the need to get anywhere near redline, felt best between 5-8k rpms. Very cool layout guage wise, gear/shift indicators, etc, but never felt the need to use them; still very neat... did I mention how smooth? it was difficult to get back on my GS500E, as much as I love the old gal; I may have to find a way to add a bike... The main things that I didn't like were cosmetic: the exhaust is HUGE(replace with Yoshi?), the fairing and the tubular frame, but there is no arguing with the performance; not a Gixer, but I'm not a racer, so we'll call it even. I can see this bike as a great touring bke, sits a lot like the GS500, just with a lot more grunt.
I put about 120 miles on one for work :icon_mrgreen: I liked it as well, very comfy, hardly any wind problems at higher speeds compared to my E :icon_mrgreen:Exhaust change is a bit more $ than the GS, you need a power comander $$$ on top of an expensive exhaust. There are less aftermarket parts for the 650 than the GS right now :bs:
All in all, I liked it. Wont be my next bike but its not a bad starter bike at all O0
I was thinking that either the GSX 650 or the SV 650 was gonna be my next bike, but I've heard ALOT of talk that the GSX650 is sub-par compared to the performance and price of the SV650 (this is talk from other forums).
But i'll definitely have to test ride one before I buy one
forgot to mention the dealer, Troy, Shawn, Arnie and the crew at Doug Reynolds Suzuki in Little Rock, AR; great bunch of guys and some hot gals as well that really know their stuff. check 'em out if you n the area, well worth the stop.

I work at a suzuki dealer and have spent a good bit of time on the SV and the new 650F. I would have to say I liked the F much better than the SV. No point to really pick out, just over all felt better to me. I also have a thing... I just dont like the SV much at all, never did... And I love that 4cyl sound over the twin ;) the F is smooth quiet and a great price
