Title: 1992 GSE project for sale.
Post by: theopsmanager on July 24, 2008, 03:58:32 PM
After alot of thought I have decided to sell my GS project. It is a 1992 GSE. The motor runs and shifts fine. I do not know the mileage because it has no gauges. I know it has at least 14750 on it because that is on the title. The bike needs a seat, gauges, taillight, gascap (currently has one but is broke), side panels ( they are also there but in rough shape) and several other parts. I will send pics tonight after I get off work. The bike starts up, doesn't smoke and runs straight. the steering is a little stiff. With some TLC this could be a great bike. It would make an awesome streetfighter. I was going to fix it for a friend but he decided he would rather have a cruiser. So if you have a cruiser we could do some trading. I am asking $750 obo. The bike is located close to Knoxville TN.

hey ops, did this bike have an aftermarket pipe on it? and what color was it. reason i ask is, i had sold a gs QUITE a while back to someone in oak ridge tn, who, more than likely sold it to someone else, and it was missing its speedo as well. and generally in rough shape

This is my 14th GS. I have bought about 10 from Gstwinners. Jared, Jetswing, opsmanager, jetswings friend (Mark was his name - forget  his handle), Tim (mytrle beach), this guy in the DC area I traded GS'es with, another guy in richmond VA forget his name too with and george (also DC) all come to mind immediately. Going back to 03 when my son was 3 months old and I went to Ohio from NC to get one from a GStwinner, I have never bought one from non GStwinners.

Heck I forgot my friend 1timeGSer in statesville.
As all of these people will attest, I usually never waffle on anything to anyone. I also dont go and say this is broken, that is mismatched. When he's said project, I think it covers all that may be broken or mismatched.
I usually pay the ask $ (but I do ask him what he'll take for it, that is what I pay again no waffling) This unusual situation, and others in the past when I have done several 100 miles on the road I paid via paypal, but always tell him first. This one time I didn't and the opsman was very accomodating to get me access to my paypal. So cash unless you arrange in advance.
I dunno, I hope they all liked dealing with me as much as I liked dealing with them.
Cool.

Parts will be a nightmare. Especially electrical triggers, the starter clutch side, alternator etc etc. Motor parts will be common with the GS like shims and what not will be easier, but, I have 3 GR motors to fiddle with, and one is already apart and its good for these parts.
Cool.
