Just wanted to see if everyone is okay. We just had a 5.8 earthquake at 11.42 pacific time centered around Chino Hills/Diamond Bar area. Had to evacuate at my work.
It shook up Torrance for just a few seconds. Friends in Long Beach said it lasted about a minute, but I'm not hearing about any damage. :thumb:
Yeah, haven't heard about damage either, but 5.8 is pretty big. It was about a minute long. started with a small shake ~3.0 to 3.5, then shook hard the 5.8 for about 10-15 seconds, then rolled pretty heavily for the rest of the time.
Pretty fun, but just wanted to make sure no one got hurt.
You Cali guys and your earth shaking...
Hope you all are OK
You Pennsylvanians and your flooding j/k. Yep, we haven't had a descent sized one in quite a while. I'm kinda surprised it wasn't bigger. Although 5.8 isn't all that small.
Yea, floods... My city had the bigest ever like 2800 people died :o So far I think we have that fixed though
Sorry if that hit a bad spot. 30 seconds of research found that floods where the biggest natural disaster in PA.
Still looks like there's no real damage. The wife said that a couple things fell over at our place, but nothing broke.
I was leaning on my tool box at work looking for a drill bit and thought some one was shaking my box I was who the f%$k looked up and saw the walls moving and said well shaZam! about time I was waiting for a quake during the day for along time now. I never stopped working tho just looked up saw the movment and went back to looking for my bit. if the military wants it unit I need to get it done.
lol. I was going to continue working too, but everyone in the building was evacuating. Who knows why, but it was nice to brake up the morning a bit.

That's great! I wish I saw that.
i was on the freeway, did not even feel it (I-5 south going into OC). I probably was exiting the freeway at Main/Broadway in Santa Ana when it hit.. but i didnt feel anything.
That's good. Hopefully it didn't reveal it's head to any other drivers/riders as well. Sitting at work, it was a very large quake. Probably the biggest that I've been in.
