A little background. I'm 18 and been riding Quads for years and years very aggressively in the dunes, desert, whatever.
I was fairly nervous before I got my 500, I thought it would be quite a challenge since I could never really "mob" on a dirt bike like I could on 4 wheels.
3 Weeks in I have to say I love it, Riding a street motorcycle seems so much easier to me then a Dirt Cycle, maybe its because your glued to the road for the most part.
Anyway 3 weeks in I'm joggin traffic on the I-15 ( Which is nuts in a car let alone on 2 wheels ) and feel very comfortable. The bike is great (05 GSF ) and is providing a great platform to hone my two wheel skills. Overall, very easy to ride and apply my background knowledge to be a successful rider.
Some things i DONT like about the GSF is...
The transmission is clunky as hell!
The low-power and close-ration transmission makes for alot of shifting.
Overall though, its a great bike and I plan to keep it for a year or so and hop on something more powerful. :icon_twisted:
Welcome and good luck. :thumb:
Clunky transmission ... not just the N to 1 shift ???
You prolly need to set your clutch, or change your oil or something. These are smooth as butter after the N to 1.
Cool.
Buddha.
Yeah, I'm gonna do an oil change soon. Its very hot in vegas and I'm gonna put some 5w in.
