I've got a starter motor that I bought on eBay, but ended up not needing -- I had a loose starter clutch bolt.
It said it was from a 2000. I have bench tested it and it works fine. I'm just looking to recoup some of the money I spent on it.
Let me know if you're interested.

No one needs a starter, huh?

I couldnt even give mine away

Well, if no one wants it, what's it worth? I paid $29.99 + $16.95 shipping when I bought it on eBay. At the time, I thought I needed one so it was totally worth the price. Of course, I wasn't a member of this forum yet, so didn't know people were giving them away. :dunno_white:
Now, I just want to dump it for as much of that money as I can get back. If you don't care how fast you get it, maybe we could find a cheaper shipping option and it would be worth a couple of bucks to you. (Again I am shrugging.) :dunno_white:
Next month, next year ... shipping doesn't matter ...
You name a $ man, and not even close to 29.99. If you had asked on here, You prolly would have got one for $10 or less - erbilabuc - what you sell your starter for ??? There is a lot of people here that have some non perishable parts they sell cheap. The parts that break easy like dash covers etc, you never find here or its close to retail. Sheite that doesn't get busted or stuff that people mod out of, cannot be given away.
Like I said, some sheite isn't worth shipping $ ... I should look at this motor I am getting the head from (if lewismug wants it) if it has starter and crank trigger.
I'll send you a stock shock ... another almost unsaleable item ... how about a stock fork spring with spacers and damping rods etc ... how about a stock muffler ... or stock white wheel (possibly too Much $$$ to ship) ... brake disc that is IMHO thin, but they dont come much thicker new ...
Cool.

Yeah, that was kind of my point -- poorly made, apparently -- that if it's a part no one wants, what value can it possibly have? I'm to the point now of thinking it's not worth the hassle of shipping, and it can just sit in my bucket-o'-spare-parts.
It's too bad I didn't find gstwin.com earlier, I could have saved myself some money. Or better yet, it's too bad I didn't properly diagnose the starter clutch issue and not have to spend the money at all.
Yea ... I have that same bin ... sometimes I dig out and fit it on my locals bikes with a stern warning to swap it as soon as they get home. Usually I see them a month later with the crap still on there. I have the significant advantage of a local GS crowd that is actually growing ... literally with people on GS'es getting flagged down @ walmart :thumb: rabid-viper.
Cool.

I never even sold mine. 1 guywanted it but had some ridiculous questions about it and Im like "man its free, take it or leave it"..... he left it. Im going to make something out of it one day like a winch for an atv or a gate opener?
ideas?
I'll take it. PM me a shipping $$.
It needs to be propping up my gate :thumb: ...
Cool.
