Yeah, yeah, rub it in... :flipoff:
Soooo BP you still gonna get her that shooter you were talkin 'bout gettin for her?
shaZam! no I just bought her a mustang! Geez you think I'm made of money or something?
Right now she has no interest in getting her CCW and I am not going to push the issue. She goes shooting with me though and for someone whao has never shot before is learning quickly. She fiired a couple of rapid fire strings the other day at the range and kept evrything in an 8" circle dead center of the chest on a bt-5 sillouhette target.
oh yeah 19 days woot woot

hell i thought all ya liberals were filthy rich lol ( jk m8) :flipoff: :flipoff: :flipoff:   we need pics, 1. of the car, 1. of you and the wife shooting, and 1 of the targets, , heh im proud of my shooting abilities, i used to shoot expired credit cards ant 20 yards out with a black powder 54 cal, and hit them all but one time, archaeologists one day 1k years from now, ( if man is still around) are going to go WTF? when they find all of teh bullets/lead/copper/and a few grenade fragments :nono:etc from our shooting on this hillside near my home. ( private property)
I like the black powder myself. Mine is only a .50 cal, like my handgun. Lots of fun and challenging too.
Yeah yeah yeah yama I took pictures of her and the car last night, gotta get the flash card out of the camera and download them.
The dealership rocked, they busted ass to get us that car wound up flying a guy to texas to drive it back, came down another grand after our factory rebates and then the salesman sent it out and had it tinted before we got to the dealership to pick it up last night.
hell they should have jsut flown yall to get it. ( ie free vacation or somethign :icon_mrgreen:
laissez le bon temp rouler 8)
15 DAYS!!!!! :icon_mrgreen:
hey..........je voudrais pour toi and ta femme tous les bons temps.......prenez garde et bonne chance bromide!!!
wooooo hooooo 7 days.
Sorry Revere, my cajun is limited to let the good times roll, but I think it may have been an invite.
Doubt we'll get to do much on the way down or back we became time limited when our house sitter situation changed.
We're gonna boogey down to the Quarter have a good time for 4 nights then boogey back.
Of course now were worried about good ole Gustave fracking with our anniversary trip.
Just a "heads up" and a local tracking map "so far".
We are certainly all "watching" to be sure.
http://www.wafb.com/global/link.asp?L=261011
If we can stay on the west side of it, it wont be too horrible. The east side will bring horrifying torrents and great winds.
If y'all have to make a run for it and ain't got access to rooms, we can let down the futon.
New Tracking

Revere you guys batten down the hatches and stay safe, unless this sumbitch hurries it's ass up and gets inland earlier than expected odds are we won't even be allowed south of shreveport on 49 tuesday morning when we get there. Looks like our anniversary trip is gonna be gustaved out of existance
leave it to mother nature to f%$k up a perfectly good vacation.
Thanks BP..........I've put little baby Suzi-Q locked in the shed. I've chocked the boat. All vehicles are filled to the brim with petrol.
Tomorrow I think I need to make a final cut of grass before "the shaZam!" and do some weedeating. Last projections are perhaps Morgan
City (one of wife and my fishing holes). We have plenty of colemans fuel and propane and water. Beans and rice are "ok" with some canned goods for a week. I need to be walking around with my Model 15 Snub in Uncle Mike's and Series 70 with a 10 round "ramline"
clip in "Mexican crossdraw" for anybody that "may develop into thugs" :) I think and pray we will be ok. Thanks.
Now..........I need to reflect and take an oxycodone and a xanax and a regular budweiser. My shoulder is killing me.
If you see that "hell is coming to breakfast" in New Orleans please have a wonderful time in a place that you both love.
How is Taos, NM this time of year?
It's a very spiritual place and we love it.
Hotel called they are closing sunaday morning and boarding up, said they would reopen wednesday offered to move our 4 nights to wed - sat and leave our rate the same. Were gonna go to dallas tuesday, catch a rangers game and hopefully head down wednesday. Revere you need anything delivered from inland when we head by you give me a holler.
Exellent. I wish for you both un grand (maybe I shouldn't use that "e" since a masculine is involved but that the hell)--shaZam! let me take it off) anniversaire. Joyeux anniversiare. And many more to come. I wish for you and your wife a grand and glorious anniversary, one that may surpass all. I truly wish y'all the best and if you both DO get into trouble down "there". I will offer you a decent place to stay and free food with no charge for sleeping quarters either. Oh.........did I mention........no charge for food either :)
see liberals aint THAT bad. revere, you let me know how it shapes out will ya? ( you KNOW how to reach me) BW one of these days, i gotta shoot that 70 a few thousand times lol, take care friend :thumb:

Damn it yama quit calling me liberal.
If this sunbitch slows down any more were gonna have to say screw it and cancel altogether  maybe load the bikes in the truck and head for robbinsville. go to the gap.
BP, the ContraFlow will be started tomorrow morning in case you're interested. For all of you that don't know, the ContraFlow is when all lanes of the interstate get "converted" to outgoing only in case of an emergency, in this case meaning out of New Orleans. Of course the "getting off point" is somewhere around Gonzales or Sorrento.............. :( megatraffic...........:(
All the stores are swamped (no pun intended) with people buying shaZam! right and left. It's a madhouse out there!
Jesus christ revere that puts a traffic nightmare in ya'lls lap their in port vincent. For that volume level I would have thought the contra flow would extend to lafeyette and up 49 to alexandria or shreveport.
Looks like it'll come ashore at morgan city right now we'll see. You stay safe, if our hotel is unable to reopen wednesday we are just gonna go to san antonio for a few days and we'll try again next year. The place d'armes is practically booked solid for the rest of september now and the fall and winter rates get beyond what we are willing to pay for a room.
Thanks for all your concern. If it hits at Morgan City we'll get the shaZam! beaten out of us from the east side, that's always the worst side. We've stocked up as well as we can. We have water, food, and ammo and propane and coleman fuel. We are waiting. Thank you.
Now they are talking about a mandatory evac for N.O. at 8 a.m.............this morn..........I think.........
ContraFlow started at 6 a.m. supposedly.
That "Ray Nagin"...........ya know..............I'd like to just slap the shaZam! out of him. He certainly has a lot of it in him! :)
ContraFlow stopping at LaPlace
You will be afuckinRRESTED if you are on the streets in New Orleans tonight (after darK). Curfew will be strictly enforced. Now THAT's the kind of place I want to visit. I'd like to have Ray Nagin and his "Police Chief" in "MY" jail for one night. Just one night. Both of the stupid bastards together couldn't pour piss out of a boot with directions on the heel.
Well we are on vacation in san antonio, our plans got Gustav'd.
It hit Baton Rouge harder than NOLA, revere give us a holler and let me know if your OK.
San Antonio is pretty darned cool as well. Riverwalk is awesome.
If you get a chance, spend one night on Sixth Street in Austin (assuming you drove down and have to come back that way). If you like live music of ANY style, that's your place! About six blocks of nothing but clubs and restaurants.
River walk is nice and clean but too glitzy and touristy. Everyrhing down here is commercial chains, you get into the French Quarter and get away from kiddie land and those places are all local and have their own unique feel. Found a really cool italian place here called Dolores Del Rio the polenta and tortellini in pesto sauce were excellent.
aww cmon BP i gotta rag you in a friendly way. see, i used to be close minded, and though all liberals were erm, not bad but well not really caring people. i had been proven wrong before this ( and have adjsuted my thinking as such) but your actions and words have re-enforced my thoughts, and cemented them. ( in a good way) anyhoo revere. when you get back online. when power gets hooked back up, get ahold of me. your safety has cost me some sleep these last few days. but im not complaining. at all. i jsut wanna know. btw also keep your eyes on ike, specially if it goes into the gulf. if it heads your way, and it remains a monster, and your happy ass dont leave. ill drag it out. or stay there with you and your wqife. to amke sure all is good :thumb:

I'll have to check that place out -- I get to SA about once every two years or so. Thirty years ago the Riverwalk was just as pretty and just as clean but not all restaurant chains. Much cooler then, and less expensive.
Okay got another locally owned place on the river walk, the little rhein steakhouse, if you're the type that gets sticker shock easily don't go there, otherwise it was the best steak I have ever been served in a restraunt 16oz's of aged cooked to perfect medium rare ribeye. It was so tender my wife cut part of hers with her fork. 2 shrimp cocktails 2 steaks split a salad 2 glasses of wine, complimentary blacked eyed peas and fresh bread was $132.
Casa Rio had great basic mexican food at very reasonble prices and an ok margarita.
Rita's on the river makes a kick ass margarita you get your moneys worth, do not texas size your rita unless you're a major drinker, 32oz texas size contains 12 oz's of tequila.
I know it's a chain but the flavored mojito's at Landry's got 2 thumbs up from my wife, and it's the only place to get oysters, they were fresh gulf oysters but the shucker dint cut the anchor foot loose from the shell. Thus I had to finish shucking my oysters with a butter knife.
More later.
tbh not bad at all on teh steak dinner price. and if you go to robbisville, ill have to ride with ya, hell, im 40 minutes ride time from teh entrance to the gap lol :thumb:
I always have lunch at Casa Rio at least once when I'm in SA. It's a local legend. You also need to go to Schilo's delicatessen (street level almost across the street from the back door to Casa Rio). Fantastic real German food. That area of Texas had many German settlers, hence the food and beer like Shiner.
