It was my first time actually seeing one of these in person. I suppose I'll get used to it though--since it belongs to a local who likes to take his son for rides.
...looks like fun to me! :thumb:

...definitely more storage than a GS!

This kid seems as least as proud as his dad....

Cool. Where's the rest of the kids gear? (Squid)
lol cool. a backwards three wheeler..
we had one on our escort run, i believe it was the same lady who i had seen at teh dragon :thumb:
I just saw one of those on the local speedway, err highway , yesterday
Holeeee cow, looks like a ZX14 rear ended a burgman.
Cool.
Buddha.
saw a pack of 4 or 5 of them yesterday rolling down highway 101 here. Kinda cool I guess.
that is def different it has a auto shifter http://spyder.brp.com/ not for me but In would not turn down the opt to ride it....
its not a bike its a trike
its a spyder..
those things are getting pretty popular up north here...They ride a lot like a snowmobile .... probably give you a bit more traction in the wetness....
I hear they're going to make a 4 door family model ;) where do you put the car seat?

The one pictured actually had a clutch. He said they were working on an auto though. One thing that is nice is only having one brake to deal with. The right foot pedal controls both front and rear. I sometimes wish the brake on my bike was operated by only one control--properly proportioning front and rear breaking--but that would never work if you ever have to brake while at a more extreme lean angle. :icon_rolleyes: I guess I'm just lazy!
Yeah, Spyder. The local Zuki/ Polaris dealer carries them.
Now where's the kid's proper gear? :nono:
it looks like a snowmobile on tires
that boy's smile is awesome. he's having a blast.
way cool.
can't wait to get my kidSSSSSSSSSSSSS on mine :D
i rode one that a motorcycle rental place has i do sign work for. forget any motorcycle training you have when you ride one of these. it rides just like a four wheeler, a fast one, but not as fast as you would think. they top out at about the same as our gs's. they ride on 14" car ties in the front & a 15 on the back. no leaning, no counter-steering. acceleration was disappointing considering the big motor these have. they are big & heavy so i guess they need that big motor. oh yeah, he rents them for 150 per hour :o but if you get 2 hours the 3rd is free :cookoo:
i was glad to get back on my gs when i left.
dont tehy have something like a 990 rotax or something?

Bingo.
Very cool looking. I guess i see the market they are aiming at bike... bikers at heart but with wives clubbing them in the head. Also the kit car crowd who like to feel like theyre on a bike but safer with more wheels :)
Other than looking cool, they ride like a pig (anyone tried riding a quadbike on road - ouch my arms, o crap i can't steer round a corner, - its like that), dont keep you dry like a car and still cant slip through traffic like a bike.
If i had to choose a vehicle that matched the above description (minus the pig bit) then i'd get an aerial atom. - that is an awesome car and they now make one with a cockpit!
Ahhh, the AA, the car that beat a 1000hp Porsche in the 1/4 on Top Gear. Those are awesome little machines. Don't forget about the Ariel 500 V8, over 1000hp per ton :cookoo:
When it comes to bikes pretending to be cars this was the daddy of them all....... http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~bugivan/quasar_page.htm
These days if you want the best of both worlds this is the tool to go for...

I believe prices start at an eye-watering £25k, thats about $50k over there.
Yea the carver is cool but i just dont see the point of it. Its more like a toy for who can get the most lean angle. Lean angle isn't determined by how skilled you are just by how aggressivly you turn the wheel. Turn the wheel at a steady pace at set speed you lean gently. Jerk it and it throws deep in. Seems kinda pointless. Mr.Clarkson summed it up best when chasing Hammond down the road with them both in them. He said it was like being in the cockpit of a fighter jet. And that sums it up really. Good to have a mess about in but no good for anything else!
I thought this was much cooler. If you're going to have 2 front wheels, you might as well have a steering wheel.
...and the engine from the ZX-14! :icon_twisted:

pretty pimp.
My father is almost complete in building his trike. He chopped the rear off a vw bug(engine and auto stick tranny), took the bare frame and front end from a 70's zuki gs750 and put em together. Quite an accomplishment. even more so considering hes in a wheel chair, has no proper shop(works from his driveway), and did 99%of it himself. Its a wheelie machine! All thats left now is to make it pretty and get it inspected again by the state.
Not an amazing machine by far. But amazing in its own way.
I like the t-rex. Anyone ever see it?
I love the t-rex. :thumb:
They are so nice. Theres this low slung coolness to them. You step out of a t-rex, all eyes turn to you. Like wtf is that and who is that ugly mofo getting out.
