Title: New car for the wife.
Post by: bettingpython on August 09, 2008, 04:30:04 PM

Pulled the trigger on an 08 mustang GT for the wife today. That's her anniversary present this year.

We have to wait for her car to get here from a dealership in Texas so this is just some random picture from the interwebz.

Dealer put us in a loaner 6cyl 08 Mustang till the new one gets here, it's pretty fun but the v6 isn't offered with the manual tranny.

I hate it when salesman can't here you, my had 2 requirements it had to be black and it had to be stick, thus I had to buy the GT.

I'll try to get pics off the wife with the car for ya,  :thumb:

They said it'll probably be Tuesday when they get it up here from Richardson, There weren't any black GT's with a cloth interior anywhere in Oklahoma the dealers send the base models off to roush or Saleen to get the big upgrades done. They had one premium listed as in stock with the leather interior that was in our price point but it had been stolen 2 days earlier a former employee of the dealership and some of his buddies stole 4 mustangs off the lot.

Our dealer had one on the showroom floor a few weeks ago. It's the wrong color for my wife, we could have been in a loaded demo model GT premium with 1800 miles that already had the windows tinted for 2K under what we're paying a brand new deluxe with cloth interior. But it was the ghost grey, it had to be black, the other demo GT premium was black, but it had an automatic, this is her dream car she's wanted one for years now so now she's getting it.

Yep the lady prefers cloth, lower maintenance than leather. Plus we had a price point that needed to be met, and they usually don't stuff as many options into the cloth mustangs, the standard package is pretty damn nice everything else is ginger bread and icing, things she could care less about like LED mood lighting and a 500 watt amp for the stereo, aluminium dash panels polished wheels etc...

We used the same dealership and salesman we bought our truck from because they really did right by us then and they did right by us this time too, it took a little more persuasion this time though since this purchase was a we want not we need a new vehicle, my old truck was about dead when I bought the new one last year. Customer loyalty pays off though our salesman and the finance manager really did have to bust their ass to get us a vehicle at the pricepoint and payment we wanted. This was an impulse lets see if we can get one now, we had started planning for her car a year from now and were researching already. They didn't want to sell me a car a year from now they wanted to do it now which meant they had to actually get everything down even further than what it neede to be if they would have waited till next year. So it was a better deal for us, I think they thought we were on crack since we traded in her 2007 focus, he couldn't believe we were willing to trade a fuel saver in on a muscle car.

In the last 22 months she had put 15,000 miles on her car. My truck has 15,000 on it in 16 months time since we drove it more on the weekends and on trips since it has the ammenities and comforts for taking road trips. Guess I'll have to humor the wife and drive the Stang to New Orleans now.

As far as money she'll actually makes aq little more than me right now and will continue to rise, yeah blacked out GT's are the best. Juggy no relatives here, that's all us, yeah the truck's nice, my feeling guilty over having a truck that nice was part of what prompted me to get the mustang a year early, that and I just love that girl.
