Title: Electrical question (1990 and 2005)
Post by: TarzanBoy on August 11, 2008, 07:33:21 PM
On the 2005 GS500 engine, there are two wire bundles that lead from the engine under the front sprocket cover.    One of the wire bundles come from the stator, and the other bundle splits into two different connectors.    What are they? One connector just has one lead and the connector has two leads.  Are both necessary, or just the one?

The same wire bundle on a 1990 engine just has the connector with the single lead.

Does anyone know what I am talking about?  Do I?

Oh, by the way, the wires in question are:

Red with a blue stripe,
Green with a blue stripe.

Ok. I have verified that the wires are coming from the neutral switch/indicator... the single lead/connector is probably the neutral light, but I still dont' know what the other connector with two leads does.

Can anyone clue me in?

Just move the switch from old engine to new, like I said before - I'm not sure why you've changed threads again.

The 04-up neutral switch both indicates neutral in the old-fashioned way, and communicates gear position to the ECM.
