If china cuts off the supply line to europe, effectively what will happen is a collapse in oil prices in asia, and a skyrocketing of prices in europe. The US would more than likely go higher, but not as much as Europe. Most of the Georgian supply goes to western europe. With that in jeopardy, europe will feel the pinch. But on the supply side in Russia, there will be a surplus. They wont be able to sell it to people who can pay big $$$ for it. The chinese will buy it cheap, and ditch their african friends in short order.
Anyway, I dont think oil is going to save russia for very long. Someone is going to invent a viable alternate energy source vehicle and the world is soon going to call oil a pollutant.

Oh yea russia got oil, but if they shut off the Georgia pipe line, they will have killed off their main supply route out, so they will be stuck selling to the asian market. if Russian crude gets cheaper than arab crude, china and India will drop their competetion for arab crude, and we will be the main benefactor of that, europeans will compete for it, but for losing china and India, europe will be about 75% of that demand. So europeans will pay more, we may pay a wee bit more, but russia will get S^&%ed.
The goal therefore has to be to kill the supply route. Well, that might be why the french are at the forefront of this crisis. Plus I am sure they are looking at it as an opportunity to surrender. So ... yea.
Georgia pipeline getting shut or not, probably will not affect the US at all, which is why the US is just scolding russia but otherwise ignoring this.
