Title: My newly spray painted gas tank
Post by: Jackstand Johnny on August 14, 2008, 07:46:58 PM
IT's still a work in progress. Soon I might put a misfits skull on both sides or something, I dont know yet. I'm also going to respray the front fender once I figure out how the hell to get it off!(http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd257/RED_GREASE/mytank.jpg)

Thats what I was thinking. Ive made the "crimson ghost" stencil a couple times for my acoustic guitar and the case for my electric. It real time consuming and I can only use it once. Ill need to make a more durable stencil so I can use it on both sides of the tank. the other dilema lies with how big the skull will be in proportion to the tank.

crimson ghost?

The crimson ghost was the character that the misfits based their infamous skull logo on. It was the villian in an old black and white horror/mystery movie.

I'm not sure if you posted it in another post but did you do a write up of everything you did to respray?  It looks like it turned out pretty good!  The misfits logo would look sick!

please, be VERY VERY careful when filling up your tank... I would hate to see yet another good paint job ruined by a drop of gasoline

Arbbarken, Ill try my best!
thanks for the kind workds folks, Ill be laying the logo down tommorow after bandaging up all the cuts on my fingers from the razor blade I used to cut out the stencil.
