I can't believe how many transactions I've gone through and no issues until now, but got my credit card info stolen somehow. It was either at knife works, or knobs4less which is a discount cabinet hardware site. I got a call from my credit card with like 15 transactions that thank god they denied all but one which was the test transaction to israel for a dollar. Hope that they catch the bastards although they probably won't. Thats why I only use my visa online and not my debit card. But alls well that ends well so they only got away with a dollar and even that will be refunded, but after all the firewalls, antivirus, and security measures it still happens. Oh well :flipoff:
 That sucks... I need kitchen cabinet knobs too !!! 8) Guess I wont get em from there. :icon_rolleyes:
This scares the hell out of me. I am always parinoid about things like this as well as my credit being stolen. I've known several people this has happened to. I'm glad to hear everything is ok!
Happened to my mum , Someone withdrew 300 quid in Prague . my mum was like . yea i dont have a passport , i wasnt in Prague that day
I have fraud protection on my cards , so i dont really worry about it that much

i use a reloadable CC, that way of tehy jack the info, im only out what i put in. but i only add almost immediately before i make a purchase so ( 1 step ahead of the asshats)
Good idea on that one. I heard about that after the fact unfortunately. Like I said, they only got away with a buck and I'll even get that back, but the whole point of the thing, you know. Who do you go through for a rechargable credit card, or how does that system work??
well there theres www.getmygreen.com ( some costs involved though. walmart seels teh prepaid visa cards, etc there are options available
I had lost my debit card in a steak and shake parkign lot...well dropped more or less. And some one found it and bought $60 of beer at the local kroger(grocery store)with the credit option before i could cancel the card. got it all back too :thumb:
fraud protection that you pay for = how they make extra money on what you should already be paying for anyway. huge new industry.
its cheaper for them to pay post theft than it is to totally fireproof everything.
well at least you did not do that stupid jerk fraud thing from nigeria or something
sometimes i am embarrassed to be a member of this board
