Title: Buddha's Non Carbon fiber exhaust cans and dont need flanges.
Post by: The Buddha on August 15, 2008, 07:21:42 PM
Read the entire thread - a few posts down we have an abrupt about turn.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=220268964801&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=012

OK maybe its time to crank up the flange making machine again.

I would like 20 orders and I can make em for $40-45 each.

Now last time Dennis crook sold them and they had over a 200 of which I believe we cleaned up over 50.
These clowns seem to have smaller numbers in their listings.
Maybe I'll poke them and ask if they have multiple ???
But we should stay with 1 kind - the 4 bolt I posted seems as good as the 3 bolt hayabusa ones they have.
BTW we should all thank pronator for this link. She sent it to me.
Now if buddha flanges get in front of the buddha bars, will it push back the bars. Legitimate question ...
More than likely not ... cos my welder is more into making flanges, somehow after the first bars broke, he would rather do flanges, he doesn't want to be the cause of someone busting their ass, so he may pause between trailer chick screwings to do some flanges, he wont with bars.
Cool.

So if I order this exhaust.. it will fit my GS with the purchase of your flange?

She sure is!  :flipoff: :flipoff: :flipoff:

And Buddha, does this mean I get a freebie flange?  :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen:

(I'll send those guys who make the exhaust an email, too)

LOL I'd say it's a unisex bike..

Another quick question to go with my other one.. how much will mpg suffer with a new exhaust/rejetting (if it needs it)

Ok I am yet to hear from them.
Dunno if pronator has had any better luck ... but ...
I start talking to my welder about making flanges and he comes up with a new idea ... and somehow after I sliced open a few cans I had lying around ...
I think I can make a whole slip on for a lot freaking less than a can as above+flange mess.
Watch this space, but I'll change the title ... flanges are out for now, I am working on whole slip on types.
Cool.

No more than 5-10 % all by itself ... but it runs better and sounds better (and it will run cooler and you will know it if jetted right ...) ... and how much harder are you gonna ride it ... smiles per gallon ... so miles+smiles per gallon will be equal to or higher than stock.
Now with buddha pipe ... I will put a choker and keep the stock jetting working as well as it has for just a while longer ... till you do get to rejetting ... that choking part is a given with anything I make. I always have that option. You can remove it at time of rejet. Always had that option, always will ... no need to turn a barbeque pit into a fire pit.
Cool.

$100 or so is my target price. That ebay thing is made in china, I am trying to compete with that with US made stuff, I may not be able to ... lets see.
I used to ask for prepaid orders way back when ... but I think this round is going to go so fast ... cos no one involved in this thing, have any time ... I may just make a bunch and put it up here and ebay.
It will be like it came from a full blown factory ... cos much of it will. I am thinking of a name too ... like GS-Performance. Or GSTwin performance.
Anyway watch this space.
Cool.

If you make a CF exhaust that bolts right on I will be first in line to buy it Buddha!
Thanks,
Yev

I too will stay tuned with great interest in the project, and of course line up to get one if it all works out. Bravo.

I seroiusly doubt CF. I am in nascar country ... so you never know ... but I seriously doubt it. The 89-00 and the 01+ is enough variation for now. I also want this to be strong and survive a crash or 2 ... not just shatter at the first sign of a crash.
I am likely to go titanium before CF, I really prefer working with metal.
If CF is the material y'all want ... I will go back to making flanges.
Cool.

Nope, I haven't heard from them yet either...

So, you're thinking of creating a WHOLE slip-on can? I like CF only because I prefer a more mellow sound. But that's just me.  :icon_mrgreen:
