I finally got back into it after a little hiatus. Things have been going rather well, I'm building back the muscle pretty quickly and in general feeling great. So, what's everyones supplement/routine? I do high intensity cycling of 4-5 exercises usually with 50 reps per exercise per cycle and aim for 4 cycles. I use GNC brand 100% Whey Protein, MRI CE2, MRI Black Powder and FRS. It seems to be an ideal combo for me and the most noticeable difference came with the introduction of the black powder. I would highly recommend it to anyone with a regular lifting routine.
In more current news, I have this really bad feeling that tomorrow is going to suck. I 'inadvertantly' spent 3 hours cycling to muscle failure repeatedly today :cookoo:
I lift 9 months out of the year, because I get a free gym membership while I'm at school. :thumb:
I don't take supplements or anything, I just eat like a horse (6000 calories a day).
Bout time to get back into that junk for me.
lol terry and you gave up the pain drugs too Eh?
Wish I had a Weight Set.Probably used to be one of the toughest Mofo's Around in High School. All of the Football players could out Bench me but my Cousin could Lift more than them.LOL He Could Go 500lb they went 450lb and I could only do 300lb.Pretty good for someone who dropped down from a Body weight of 260lbs to 172lbs in one summer.I had all of their asses whooped on Leg Pressing though.Cousin only could do 500lbs football players done Around 500lb but I could Leg Press 650lb. Then I discovered Alcohol and Realized it didn't make a F*$^ and then I got Old. Wish I could go back and Kept on doing it.I still got most of the Leg Muscles but My upper body flew all to Hell.
aint that the truth
I need to start lifting. I need to get my wieght back up to 205. 230 would be nice. I lost 30 lbs last winter from being sick so often. and since i had no fat, a lot of it was muscle atropy. Any recomendations for a good full body routine to get about 60 lbs on with minimal supplements in about a years time?
I need to do something with my free time since my girlfriend of two years and I went our own ways about a 2 weeks ago. (thank god for the GS.)
What worked for me was lifting every other day and doing my cardio on my non-lifting days. I'd do 3 light warm up sets, then one set of 8-10 (failure between 8-10). Then a heavy set of 4-6 to failure. It's a good routine, but gotta have a spotter to go that heavy. Atleast I do. For supplements all I did was creatine ~5g before I worked out and ~5g after I worked out (mixed in my shake). Did a post workout shake with ~45g protein and 30~ dextrose. I was using ON 100% whey, but it got expensive. Now it's about 80 bucks for a 10lb bag. So I'm trying EAS from Sams Club. My best gains were about 15lbs of muscle in a semster. That's good for me, I have trouble gaining size.
Trying to start lifting again, I took a year off because of residency work after I finished school. Now the gym is kicking my ass...
I've been back at it for 3 weeks and am up about 8lbs of muscle. I have ridiculous leg strength so I just kinda BS on leg days (no real need to get any stonger there) I did 3 sets of 50 reps a piece at 540 today just on a whim on the way out. I maxed back in the day a hair over 1k and can still manage 810 without to much grunting :icon_rolleyes:
shiznizbiz: a good supplement routine along with everyday vitamins and such and just remember that going to muscle failure in moderation is a good thing. I aim to do muscle failure sets once a week.
I was going to get into lifting , but as i get tattooed every week , it would damage the ink in my arm , i eat like 6000 kl a day , ussually alot of eggs and steak , if not alot of beef and such , then play drums for around 3 hours a day , so im very toned im going to wait until ive finished this arm before i start lifting
allot of what you are experiencing is muscle memory. i entered body building contests in the late 70's early 80's at the state level. but then i joined the navy and lifting became secondary, but still important, to my job. i enjoy the Irish/American logger genetics which means i am short and stalky naturally. add in some proper weight training and diet along with supplements and my 5'8 frame was pushed over the 200lb mark cut and chiseled and in fighting form.
I have a lot of Irish in me also and despite standing 6'0" I have a very typical Irish build. The weird thing is that all that didn't come into effect until I had been in the Army almost a year.
I take after the cherokee blood in my build. Ive always been decievingly heavy. When i was in prime shape, I wieghed in at 210. People thought i only wieghed 180. I guess its the hieght too. 6'2" But I figure if i can get back to 205 Id be happy. Anytign past that would be icing on the cake. My dream wieght is 230, but my realistic goal is 205.
Well see what happens with a little exercise ;)
I'm off to the gym right now. No legs today, I'll probably just do lat pull-downs, incline press, and shrugs along with the usual crunches. That's my 'ol faithful' routine when I don't feel like being creative, works damn near everything in the upper body.
So, I'm at the gym going about my usual circuit training and this guy comes over and asks for a spot real quick. No problem, he finishes his set without incident and I'm trying to figure out where I know him from. He's wearing a USMC shirt so I ask what he does and he tells me he's an SDI up there at the island in between cycles and it hits me.

That's him, his name is Thomas Hill. It'd be too damn funny if I ended up in his platoon.
I train four bodybuilders in China and a couple in the States so you can ask me any questions you want about any routine. I myself am a former professional athlete and currently work as a trainer as well as a physical therapist/masseuse. My training is hectic and involves multiple routines and sports and training techniques. Basically, you train for what you want to achieve. If you want to bulk up or lose weight and trim down, there are specific diet and exercise regimens you should follow that are tailored to your individuals needs, and NOT what has worked for everyone else. All of my clients and bodybuilders do individual programs. Hope this helps.
I'll keep that in mind should I come to a roadblock. I've actually got a pretty decent routine worked out and from previous experience have found that the best way for me to trim down IS to bulk up. I do my modified circuit training mostly out of old Army habit, but it has worked well for me so far. Overall, I stay very well hydrated, am fanatic about my supplementation routine and usually aside from making sure i get enough protein in general, I don't really worry about my diet. It's worked well so far and this is the second time going that way.
WAIT, I know what China has that I could use!!!!! That's where they make Jintropin!!!!
   (not really kidding all that much)
Personally, im not a huge lifter, i lift to keep in shape for my Aikido. However the sport/or art whatever you choose to call it doesn't require strength. Ive been thrown by a 75 year old man (fook me he had good technique) and also a 5'4 lady. I myself am 5'11 about 170lbs. Strength always helps a little thought ;) hehe.
The strength i require is not lifting strength really in terms of core strength, abs, back lower legs. But more of shoulder and arm strength in all directions. I tend to use dumbells usually with 20-30kg (depending on whether im going for endurance or weight) usually do 60-100 reps from various positions and also on the bench. Every morning unless im on an early shift at work. Its not a hell of alot but i do it to keep fit along with incline cycling 15-20 miles 3 times a week.
I cant wait, Im gettign my membership this week. Should prove very useful. Now I just need to figure out a minimalist suppliment routine. Any suggestions? Im 6-2 176lbs. looking to get to 210+ in a years time with good over all strength.
Buttloads of water and a good protein should help you well enough. I went last night and did 6 miles on the elliptical machine (knees are way the f%$k out of condition to be running). This starts the next step up in my training. The last few weeks have been 3-4 days at the gym per week, this week on is everyday.
terry: what supplement/ brands do you use? i'm finally into a "routine" and i think it's time i added a bit to it. i'm trying not exactly to watch what i eat but more so what i drink. trying to cut out sugary drinks and drink less beer. (sad, i know. )
disregard my previous post. i just read your origainal post in which you state what you use. call me a moron. :icon_mrgreen:
i am considering trying the Xyience line-up. :dunno_white:
I've always heard that the xyience shaZam! is exactly that.....shaZam!. Muscletech is way overhyped, their products are decent but not up to par with others and over priced. The GNC brand shaZam! is all pretty solid and if you want a 'name brand' MRI is good stuff. Muscle Asylum is a new player on the market and has some pretty good deals if you can find the value packs.
what have you heard about BSN? their products seem to be the most expensive so far of the one's i've looked at on GNC website
Wow, I missed that last post. I don't personally know anyone that uses BSN products, nor have I ever. I've started using a new line of supplements at the recommendation of a Personal Trainer at my gym. I'm using Fusion Zeus, a test booster (along with St. John's Wort, because I really don't need more rage issues) and Fusion Fubar, a pre-workout supplement. I just started today so I can't comment on the Zeus, but the Fubar had a very definite impact. I was never twitchy like with a lot of caffeine based PW's, but I always had a little bit of 'go' in me that lasted past the 2 hour mark and my nutrition was pretty f%$ked today so I'm heavily attributing an overall excellent workout to this supplement.
I had always been a little bit into it, but I got into it seriously almost exactly a year ago, when I discovered that my workplace has a kick-ass gym. I am definitely more muscular and toned than I've ever been. I'm not competitive; I just like to be fit and to have enough musculature to lift heavy things when it's useful to do so. I alternate weight days with solid cardio days (I do a little footracing and cyclocross now and then, and I like to stay in shape for that), and the results have been good. I don't supplement my diet with any strange things; I just make sure I get enough protein (vegetarian) and keep my diet diverse.
I'm a power junky.........300g+ protein a day ( mostly supplemented, not a vegetarian), not happy with a lift max if it's less than double my bodyweight kinda deal. I've started spinning on my off days and almost gotten to where I enjoy it again :icon_rolleyes: ( I look pretty ridiculous in there, I'm double the size of most participants) I'm not competitive and probably won't get into that aspect.
No matter how much you lift, youre still ugly, and jserios mom wont have you :flipoff: :flipoff:
OMG! :thumb: :icon_lol:
jk btw.... 'bout jserios mom :icon_twisted:

Oi.......
gotta love poser punks who think they're bad-ass because they go to the gym twice a month and drop a lot of weights..........
Damn retard nearly had a hernia trying to 'prove his manhood' on the barbell I had setup for dead lift/shrugs.
Fubar once again had an extremely level energy disbursement and is becoming a favorite pre-workout. As far as the test booster, still not noticing anything, but most reviews say it takes about 2-3 weeks of loading before gains are seen.
nice. plus make use of the MTB while youre doin that
A cold has kept me from the gym for the last 2 days. It seems to be subsiding, so hopefully I'll get back at it monday. If not, I'll be reporting to the Doc Monday AM and demanding a Bicillin shot.
f%$k that, be a man, sweat that shaZam! out. go do some cardio followed by a shaZam! ton of up downs. :thumb:

Wow, quite a shopping list there of things. Throw out a quick eating schedule for me and my food allergies. Allergic to soy, dairy (minus eggs cause I won't give them up) cheese, beans in general. I weigh about 170 5'8" by no means overweight if you looked at me. Decent muscle tone just a little extra fat all the way around cause I hardly work out anymore. Throw out a general bulk and cut routine or just a tone up kind of routine because I feel thats all I really need at this point.
Sounds good. Whatever works for you. Sorry about your food allergies. I think a lot of herbal or chinese traditiional medicine has been shown to be effective in treating them. See if you can check that out. Good luck.
Bomb: Just try to work all the major groups evenly and do 6ish sets of 10-12 at 60-70% max each trip to the gym. Going above 70% or so doesn't do any good if you just want to tone up. My tone is freaking horrible, but I do 90%+ on the majority of my sets with 300g protein a day and get pretty pissed if I don't build my standard 1lb of muscle per week. As far as supplements, Isopure is pretty popular. It's am Ion Exchange Whey Protein Isolate and has no carbs and very little void filler. I get one at the gym if I forget my mixer or run out, they come in mix form or in pre-mixed bottles that have 40g of protein each.
Days achievement:
15 reps Leg Press at 1170 and 3 at 1260 I'm pretty sure I could push 1530, but can't figure out how to get anymore plates on. As is I have em stacked to the end of the bar and on the back of the foot plate.
...shaZam!...I thought you meant shoplifting... :dunno_white:
SPC gone too far!!!!! :)

No doping for me yet, still working logistics on that.
Hopefully no doping for you at all :nono:
That's some serious poundage you're pushing. I wish you success! And for God's sake if not for mine......be careful..........

id not want to look like that. mainly because its an ongoing maintenance thing afterwards. either keep working out or it goes to fat essentially
The guy in the link isn't all that big, just looks it because of seriously low body fat.
The guy in the pic is right about my target size. He's a freaking monster.
frig terry you get that big and then go into the service. none of your superior officers are going to give you hell lmao
I'm not that far off from him. I figure I can be there in 4-6 months.
or teh nme will go liek the french, OH SHEEEEEIT we surrender
Peak Leg Press tonight, breaking 90 at the knees: 4x8 at 1170
I had some left in me, just have to figure out how to load more weight on the damn thing :cookoo: I think I can throw 2-150lb db's on the back of the footplate, that'll bring me to 1290
Went about 85% on shrugs with BB at 425 and took it relatively easy on military press at 165 and tricep extensions at 195.
The test booster 'seems' to be finally kicking in (says it takes about 2 weeks to load up in your system), I've noticed even with the SJW I'm getting very cranky over minor things though not getting really pissed off and recovery seems to be pretty expedient.
The pre-workout is freaking awesome. It provides an even disbursement of energy and I haven't felt jittery yet even taking 50% more than suggested dosage.
1170 for reps and you're wanting to go up? Sweet Jesus that's insane. Have you considered pushing a Ford truck up a hill instead?
But seriously, that is an amazing amt of weight to push. Congrats. Maybe one day I'll break 500 for reps.
The goal is to break 1500 :cookoo: :cookoo: I'm not sure if It'll happen this year or not. I'm also aiming for breaking 500 deadlift.
I may try to fab up something to attach to the support brace on the back of the foot plate. I've seen newer machines with another bar in this location so it shouldn't be that big of an issue structurally.
My legs are still tense as all hell and I have a sneaking suspicion that walking is going to suck tomorrow :icon_rolleyes: but overall I feel pretty good.
The only hill here is a US Hwy bridge over a sound with next to no ROW, the Mercedes probably out weighs a ford truck though and I've pushed it along for about 1/4 mile when I ran out of diesel
ive got an 86 chev c10, and a 65 chev c10 you can push up all approaches to my home. 2 of which are twisty., youll hit your target
i've only been going 3 times a week for about 3 or 4 weeks now. i'm noticing a bit more definition in the arms, chest and upper back. but i can't for the life of me make a dent in this keg around my waist. ( i use the term lightly, i'm not fat i just have a pudgy belly. :icon_mrgreen: )
I ordered another bottle of Zeus today from bodybuilding.com and am getting a free T-shirt from Fusion. :icon_mrgreen: Tomorrow I'll probably leave the legs alone for the most part, but it will all depend on how good I feel when I wake up. I'll probably end up being there for 4-5 hours.
I'm hoping to really blast my Tri's and do some decent build work on my pecs and traps/
SPC, that dude looks like he's from that............hell, what is the name of it............that fight thingy............
in a cage...........shaZam!.........you know.......he looks ike a mean sob that only a leaded axe handle or .45 could back him off.....damn
   He actually is a pro MMA fighter
OK.........I give up............what is MMA? Gotta be kinda like the WBA WBC????????
Who is that guy.......let me think.......uh........Vince Mc something..........he owns that damn Wrestling empire..........
Didn't he buy a part of that cage fighting? Did he buy all of it? I don't think he owns all of it. I read an article on him (Vince) and he is a "Billionaire" (one billion--super small potato) with all of his promos. And he is in GREAT shape for a 62 year old. His son in law is that damn "triple K" (wrestling world).............it is funny because they "act" like they hate each other and yet have breakfast each morning together with his daughter of course, triple k's wife. I think he bought out a part of cage fighting........there is one guy that really has his tenacles in it and I saw him on some news channel the other night and he has some kind of riff with the greatest fighter that ever was in there and more or less fired him because of "back biting" trash and stuff like that. They are some mean bastards!
The guy in the pic is John Juarez and MMA stands for Mixed Martial Arts.
You want to see a seriously f%$king stacked and ripped older guy? Check out Stallone. The ol' I-talian Stallion just got bigger and meaner with age :cookoo: :cookoo: Damn I wish our government would stop being a bunch of whiny FA gs and approve Jintropin without throwing it on schedule III
On a health related note: I went to court today for a BS speeding ticket  and repeatedly set the metal detector off. Every time the wand didn't find anything and every time the walk-through went apeshit. I've done my research and none of the supplements I'm taking should cause this, but to be safe I think I'm going to have some serology done on monday............gives me an excuse to check on my Test levels anyway.
Outstanding lift today!!
My maxes:
Shrug: 2x5@495 and 4@545
Standing calf raise: took it easy so I could really burn my legs tomorrow so rep'd at 450 and final set at 500
Tricep extensions: final circuit did 2x8@205 and 5@220
Incline press: final circuit 3x5@360
Tomorrow I'll probably mix in some Military Press with my lower and core blasting.
Watch your scrotum! Do NOT blow out your scrotum with these lifts (get a hernia). One of my working buddies had his a-hole pooch out. He is a big guy (290 lbs) and had gone all the way down with some very heavy weights (squatting) and had to get carried to the ER. He had to have hemorroid surgery. His a-hole just turned out.
Another guy I work with......a young guy.....(35 years old) is the Highlander champion (here) and is trying for the strongman championship. He weighs about 360 and is NOT fat. He may have a 40 inch waist. He has all the "stones" and 660 lb. anchor chain and farmers walk special dumb bells and stuff. He is freaking MASSIVE and is as strong as 4 very strong men. He lifts cars and shaZam!. And throws beer kegs with water in them and shaZam!. His arms are like 26-28 inches around. He is freaking massive. He is trying to slim down to 330 lbs. and shed bodyfat. I will send you to a website if you want. I will see him tomorrow. He works in a different department across the way from me. Watch those testicles!!! :)
p.s. He works out with weights too.........with some weight lifting freaks....FREAKS...........they push heavy trucks uphill and s h i t,
they are just f%$king lifting FREAKS............but careful freaks.......... :)
did 5x5@1300 today, need to figure out a new weight arrangement to add more weight :icon_rolleyes:
Military press I just did a lot fo 80~% @ 225
and burned my triceps down again.
Tomorrow is 100% off.
I generally don't go all the way down (ass to ankles) for squats but still break 90 degrees at the knees.
I think I'm going to get my AFPA-CPT cert.
WooHoo, legs tomorrow!!!!
Kinda lame workout today, but yesterday I got some bad food at Arby's and ended up puking my guts out in the middle of the night so me blood sugar was pretty well f%&ked all day.
SO, long story short...Im a really hard gainer. Like really hard. I did a little self study and realized diet plays a huge role as well as genetics.
I decided to combat this with a little diet training before my actual ream physical training starts. after all getting big is all about diet. RIght now im on the see food diet.....Im finally really hungry every 3 hours.
Ive been doing a little bit of training to keep from developign nothign but fat. In the last 6 weeks Ive gained 10 lbs. I was so happy to finally see 180 come back up on the scale. This was taken after just wakign up, after pooping, and naked. So there werent any variables. lol.
That gain was just off eatign more and better and a touch of exercise every night. So maybe im not that hard of a gainer...Just gotta be smarter.
Its getting cold out. Time to find an indoor facility. Someplace with a quarter mile track would b nice. Im going to start a sprint routine on my "off days". IT wont be too hard on me. I did it for 6+ years. Yay For diet!! lmao.
1410 leg press today 2x8.
Yeah, I'm on the see food diet also. People are generally appalled at how much I eat. :icon_rolleyes:

BUT terry you gotta eat to make muscle, which from what your typing, im assuming thats the plan
i'm actually trying to trim down the fat around my middle and generally tone up and get stronger. i'm not looking to really bulk up per se.
I definetly am. I was at 170 6 weeks ago. 181 now. about a 2 years ago I was at 195 got super sick for 4 months and muscle atropy set it. Hell not even 4 years ago i wieghed in at 205-208. My goal is to get back to 205 or more. 230 would be nice.
Time to hit the rack so I can be well-rested for the morning. It's an upper body blast day tomorrow so I'll be throwing Mil Press, Incline Press, Tricep Extension, Shrugs and Lat Pulldowns into the mix.
I'd like to get to about 290ish and even off there with~ 20 inch arms.
and you get back into the service, and theyll have to custom tailor your bdu's
I've seen guys up to about 350 that fit into un-tailored fatigues, dress greens are a completely different story though.
I weighed in at 267.2 today. The test booster is definitely in full swing, I'm irritable, strong as hell, confident, and at any given time about 2 seconds from humping anything that moves. I've been taking the cheap GNC brand thermogenic for the last 4 days and already noticing a little trimming up in my face and abdominal measurement. My arms are pretty damn solid at just over 18(left) and dead on 18.5(right) chest is a hair shy of 49. I've set a few new goals as I met old ones: 4 rep max @ 595 for shrugs(I'm actually pretty close to this) 8 rep max @1530 for leg press (very close on this) 5 rep max @ 450 for incline press (this is the one I'm furthest from)
I'm waiting for a couple more weeks or so to replenish savings before I hit the 'go' button on paying for the CPT program.
Kaizer: any recommendations on which organization to go through to get my CPT?? I plan on doing the strength training program shortly thereafter so preferably one wiith a good reputation in that area.
For the programs, Florida has a very reputable one. Now you can only get a doctor of physical therapy and no longer a certification. Sad but true. I am glad I did it old school and got the courses out of the way while they were cheap. I think there are physical therapy assistantships available, but they are pretty rare. Good luck and let me know if you google something good.
a serious question. if i'm looking to trim fat and gain muscle tone and not exaclty "bulk up" what should i be doing? as far as my supplement regime a and type of workout. i'd rather have raw strength than size. :thumb:
Thermogenics are a pretty safe bet for shedding a few pounds, but they aren't a miracle drug they just help to boost the effect of proper diet and exercise. Dren is pretty popular as are the hydroxycut variants, but be careful as they are loaded in caffeine. If you have a friend that does bio-chem research there's a product that used to be pretty widely used by the name of clenbuterol, but it's not entirely legal for human use. Ephedrine is available as a 'bronchiodilator', but you would need huge doses to get the effect of the ephedrine of olden times and it would end up being pretty costly.
my only fat per se is around the midsection. with the workouts i've been doing and the supplements ( i use xzyience but may try another alternative in a few weeks when the xzyience is gone) i've noticed a change in muscle tone in my arms and back but not in the midsection where i'd like it.
FLutter kicks, planks both front and side, supine bycyles, sprinting, hanging legs raises both front and side. They all work your abs very nicely with no wieghts. If you do the sprint, lock your torso in place to bring the abs into play and to run with proper form. They are meant to resist movement and stabalize the body while in motion.. Remember that. :thumb:
thanks. :thumb: i know that a strong core is essential to good health. maybe i should lay off the beer. i really have though, i dont' drink as much and when i do, it's light beer. :icon_mrgreen:

and in many places ephedrine and pseudoephedrine are no longer qavailable OTC. ( its a common ingredient of methamphetamines )
Its super controled here. Gotta go into a database of when you purchased the stuff, and how much. They limit it severely.
About a week ago I wrote Fusion with my personal review of two products, Fubar and Zeus. They wrote back almost immediately wanting my address so they could send me a shirt. :icon_mrgreen: It arrived today and the shirt is awesome, but even better.......they chucked in a full bottle of Zeus and samples of their other products :thumb:
Short review:
Fubar (Pre-workout): The best PW I've used, no jittery feeling and doesn't elevate body temp like some. The energy delivery is smooth and controlled starting about 30 minutes after taking the pills. The only problem I've found is that after about 2 weeks I have to cycle off for a few days because my body adjusts to the stimulants.
Zeus (Test Booster): I always thought these were a joke, but I found my first bottle at a site that had them heavily discounted so I gave it a whirl. I'm about 4 weeks in and plan on keeping it up for another 8. The first effects noticed aren't the best part. I noticed a little acne popping up and my already short temper was expanding it's horizons at about 2 weeks in. At 3 weeks I started noticing that I was a lot more confident and felt like a freaking monster anytime I set foot in the gym. Since starting I've added about 1/2 an inch to my arms and I don't do bicep workouts. A recent, unrelated 'issue' caused me to have some blood work done and my Test levels were nearly double normal values :icon_twisted:
Great stuff overall and bodybuilding.com has their lineup in stock and ships really fast.
Test Booster? Eg like a Steroid?
No, basically just a supplement that tricks your body into producing more than it normally would.
They have a pretty good explanation of all their products on their website: fusionbodybuilding.com
I tried Shut-Eye, their sleep aid, last night and it was the best non-scrip sleep aid I've tried. Not quite as heavy as something like Lunesta, but it has the advantage of no haze when you wake up. I think I'm going to grab a bottle of this and SubQ when I order more Fubar.

Its super controled here. Gotta go into a database of when you purchased the stuff, and how much. They limit it severely.
