Title: 250 miles and rain
Post by: 96gs on September 07, 2003, 09:39:15 AM
yea not very fun. me and my dad, along with 6 other motorcyclists (we are part of the Southern Cruisers Riding Club) went to Talledaga Superspeedway to race the track. sadly my dad didnt have the 70 bucks for me and him to go around the track.it got a little misty on the way up and then abnsolutely poored goin back the 150 miles. sad part about it, all i was wearin was jeans boots shirt and leather vest. it hurt and it stung like a mother. my legs are soar and my throat hurts.my clothes are still soakin wet even though they have been sittin out for almost 18 hours now.the raod got pretty good goin up there and i guess its safe to say it was fun goin up there. just sucked comin back. the best part of all this is my bike finally got clean(haha). now ill try to ride in only sunny or cloudy weather.

Yup rain sucks.  I had to ride in that weired tropical storm down here in FL.  Nothing like having 1" of rain in your boots and seeing nothing but raindrops on your visor.  Oh and it will take a few days for your stuff to dry.  and your boots are going to smell aweful.  Have fun.  :thumb:

Yep leather takes forever to dry and you cant help it along any! My pants and gloves take forever. But I have some nice army gortex boots I got from a surplus store and never have a problem with rain getting in and I wear them over my leathers. Feet stay dry as do my legs just my arms and shoulders get wet from my JR atomic jacket which is to be replaced this week with a Gerick Tribal leather one to match the pants!
