Post by: souljeroflight on August 19, 2008, 07:29:24 PM
so when i here about veryone removing their grab handle i wonder if they all sacrifice seeing the tail mounting bolts to get rid of the handle?
i removed my handle but it left open this space where i could clearly see the tail mounting. is there something i dont know?

I have no problem with the grab handle, but obviously you'd want to do some bodywork to close up the gap if you removed it and wanted it to look good.  Many options - bondo, glass, carbon fiber, old soup cans, etc.

If I remove mine it will be to add a sissy bar, so there won't be a gap.

I removed my grab handle and others have too.  You just have to deal with the see through part on the tail.  Until I get the solo seat cover made for my bike that will fill those holes but not look like the duck bill cowltech is making.

I removed my grab nandle and put on a luggage rack and Givi trunk, not tops for looks but unbeatable for convenience.

I removed my grab handle because I have trouble leaving anything stock, and it never gets used.
I easily put it back on for the rare occasions that I ride two up.

Removed mine and like it.  Most people who see it don't know that it wasn't made that way.

I like my grab bar, it makes a nice place to hang the little U-lock I use to lock my disc when I'm parked...

I grab it.  Like for rolling the bike around the garage.  Good for grabbing!
