2001 GS500 Suzuki
It's a great beginner bike, which is exactly the role it played for me and my wife. Would also make a great commuter bike. Great on gas (65+MPG), and is light weight, and will still travel interstate speeds. I rode it last about 2 months ago. Battery may need a charge, but is really a non-issue. I have made some notes above a few photos. The tank is new and the exhaust pipe is new b/c it fell over in a trailer and dented the tank. Bike was repaired at Meridian Cycles, in Meridian, MS.
Only issue I can think of that isn't pictured is that you can start the bike in gear. The clutch safety switch broke and I just wired it so it would bypass it.
2300 or so miles.
$2250 OBO. I have the title in hand.
Edit - It will need a new battery as of now. The one on there will not hold a charge overnight. It's probably 7 years old. :embarrassed:

This scuff was made when the bike was set down on it's side while parked in a gravel parking lot. Bike wasn't moving, beginner rider just lost balance.

This was made when the bike fell over in a trailer it was being hauled in. The trailer was parked. The dummy unloading lost balance of it.

These are from me throwing my leg over it. The metal lace loops on my shoes caught it.

I dunno what happened to this sticker.

Surely someone wants a good GS. O0
Nice GS, in very good condition... You need to be patient to make this sale, since you're not in a major metropolitan area. You'll have to wait for the hurricane(S) to leave the Gulf, or, if you need to sell it sooner, post it on your local Craigslist... You're far enough inland that some college student in Jackson or Meridian will want it, once things dry out...
Stay safe; best wishes to all GSTwinners living in the Gulf states...
man I wish I had just a little more money to spend because I would fly out to MS and ride it back to Texas that is a great looking GS
Thanks for the replies guys. :thumb:
I didn't even think about Craigslist! I'll do that today.
looks great. too bad you wouldn't (or would you?) want to swap mirrors.
mine are the ugly old stockers (black plastic) and I'd like to try those out.
:)
No thanks! I'll keep the chromies on it. Unless you wanna buy the bike, swap em, and then you sell the bike.

Willing to negotiate.
GTmann. i'm in far east texas, what part of MS is philidelphia in?
Central eastern MS. About 35 miles north of I20 on the eastern side of the State.
Too bad I bought my '92 last year. Otherwise I would jump on it and ride off in the sunset. Great looking bike ... be patient on the sell.
I haven't ruled your bike out GT. Would jump on it were it not so far off. just got to figure out my options.
It's still here. :thumb:
Just needs a new battery - but I don't want to replace it yet, if it's going to just sit all winter and spring again.
Would you be interested in a trade for an 05 CRF250R dirtbike in excellent stock condition? I'm in Louisiana and your bike is just what I've been looking for. :thumb:
Flawed...check your email.
