I replaced the rear tire just a few days ago.
It seemed aligned properly, it drives straight and nothing out of the ordinary happened with tame driving.
Earlier I was hauling ass on this curve ( doing about 60-70) and as I got in a lower lean, the bike had a wobble coming from a the rear tire!
Also when I left my hands off the bars while in gear, it drives straight and doesn't wobble at low speeds but at higher speeds when I let go the bars will start to wobble within a second or two, it would for sure cause a crash because once it starts wobbling it gets worse, until I grab the bars, the lightest grip of my hands stops it clean.
Any ideas?
Perhaps the rear tire weights are not balanced correctly :thumb:
I surely hope not.. since the shop just did it, but I'll have to explore that possibility. :icon_confused:
Tire pressures, tire grip, and many many other factors. Neck bearing preload ... swingarm bearings, wheel bearings ... neck bearings especially do have a break in situation ... very very little ... but they do need a little attention right in the first 100 or so miles.
Cool.
Buddha.
If this just started after the rear tire change make sure the tire is seated properly. Put the bike on the centerstand and spin the rear wheel to see if there is any wobble in the tire. There is a line around tires very close to the lip of the wheel on both sides. Turn the wheel around by hand and see if that line is an equal distance from the rim all the way around, if tire isn't seated properly that distance will vary usually in one spot. First thing I do when picking up a wheel with a new tire mounted is to observe that line all around on both sides to check for proper seating of the tire on the rim.
