Title: suzuki RF600r
Post by: jhutch2115 on August 21, 2008, 06:32:18 PM
Can anyone give me some feed back on the RF6000R, is this a Katana ? Also what's the word on the  Hyasung GR650, is this a bike to avoid? I like some of the body parts on this bike especially the head light and intrumentation and was wondering if we could graph them on to the GS??  -- Thanks for your feedback --JIM :)

RF was downdraft heads ... it was the stepping stone to the full blown GSXR 750 of 96.
Mostly unremarkable bike, it may have displaced the katana if it was cheaper, it was a more sporty tour bike. General pats bin bike.
Lots of its bits will fit the GS ... not sure what all though.
Hyosung I believe is calling their 650 the GT 650 I think. No idea, but buy an SV, cheaper in the long run, and 99-03 SV's are selling for 1500-3K. bargain depending on the shape.
Cool.

I cant say anything about the RF,  but the Hyosung is NOT even an SV motor, despite many people believing it.  its a knockoff pile of crap bike.  the fit and finish is just cheap compared to any jap bike, and it just isnt built right.

Thanks for the replies! I am considdering getting the instrument cluster because of the digital readout. I will have to look at one real close before I purchase the parts used. -- JIm :)

Here's a youtube not about the 600s, but about the 250s -- Hyosung vs Kawasaki 250.  Good summary at the end.
