I was riding to work yesterday and my steering felt squidgy and wobbly. I am pretty new to riding, this is my first bike (03 GS500) so I wasn't sure what was wrong. I spoke to my husband during the day and he met me at work in the afternoon to have a look befor I rode home. Turns out the front tyre was flat. There is a service station next to work so I rode it there. Tyre guage said 0. Pumped it up and it seems to be OK still this morning. Must be a slow leak. I'm getting it serviced on Friday so I'll get them to have a look. No obvious nail or anything, so maybe a valve. So anyway what pressure should the tyres be?
I don't know on these, but on my Yamahas with cast wheels and tubeless tires, the bead seal area would get crufty with time and need to be polished in order to seal properly, or there would be a slow persistent leak.

There is a sticker under the seat that will tell you. The numbers on the side of the tire are usually max inflation, and shouldn't be used. My '94 still has the sticker after many PO's intent on modding the heck out of the bike, so yours will probably still be there too...
I usually do 33 up front and 36 in the back, hasn't failed me yet. BTW, I think you should get a repair manual and study up. The more you can learn about the bike, the better off you will be.
