So you yanked the rubber off, or you welded up some tube stock like the rear peg would be if you yanked the rubber off - I guess?
yanked rubber off w/ custom black spray paint!
Man that mod is right up my alley. Cheap, a little elbow grease, and presto! A whole new look. :thumb:
just turn the peg over and slit down the back w/ a pen knife. Not all the way thru or you will scratch the steel. Then just pull and peel and spray. I hung them up to spray w/ the hook of a rubber bungie dangling from my garage door. I would have painted them aluminum but had run out of paint, so I used my wheel paint....semi flat black.
Yes I am going to wash my bike....been very wet and rainy here for the last week.
I need to make a rubber washer or something to help them stay in the tucked up position. They just flop down now.
How about taking a regular washer and bending it to a curve. It will take up more space and provide some friction.
aha will do!
Why? Was the rubber too comfortable? :dunno_white:

Although we're talking about the passenger pegs here, I have converted my fronts to alloys (http://cgi.stanford.edu/~sanjayd/gs500/uploads/Upgrades/peg_front_view.jpg). I actually find them
more comfortable than the original stock ones - I like the way they hold the heel of my boot and extra inch or so of leg room is welcome.

No, Mr. Smart Ass, the rubber was ruined by some chemical, sort of like your brain. :cookoo:
