Title: WTB a few different sizes of valve shims
Post by: Cal76 on August 31, 2008, 02:58:06 PM
I am going to soon adjust my valves in my 94 gs500 and I need some shime of various sizes.  It has 5000 actual miles on the bike so, it is about time to adjust and I am assuming that they will need adjusted.  I just dont want to get it all apart and not have all the parts to finish.

Thanks
Wayne

I know what you mean. I have a 95 with 9k actual miles. Did the adjustment about 1k miles ago and the valves were pretty good except the intake valves if i remember right. I just ordered the valve shims online. Here's a good place to get them too. Your better off finding what exact # shims u need instead of having an assortment and guessing. You might need two the same size. I forgot what website to order them but they're 5 bucks a pop.

Thanks, thats probably going to be the solution.  Ill just take it apart and leave it apart for a week or two.  I think I am actually going to be able to wait until the weather gets bad to do this so, it won't matter much.

Thanks
