Hello all. I purchased my GS500E last year for my lady and she's done almost 5k miles on it in her first year. She hadn't complained about it, but when I took it out for a ride today I noticed the rear shock was completely gone. Pogo sticking all the way down the highway was no fun. So now I'm in the market for an aftermarket shock. I've done my research and have narrowed my search to a used Katana shock. Does anyone have an opinion on the shocks from various years? Or does anyone see a winner in this ebay link . . . http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37.l1313&satitle=katana+shock&category0= I'm hoping to get one ASAP so my gal can get back out on the street.
And a picture for motivation. . .

Motivation not necessary, but encouraged ;)
according to the wiki http://cgi.stanford.edu/~sanjayd/gs500/Upgrades/RearShock (http://cgi.stanford.edu/~sanjayd/gs500/Upgrades/RearShock)
any Kat 600 will work.
Excellent - I totally forgot about the Wiki page. I did most of my searching via the forums search tool.
Are the shocks from a Katana 600 and a 750 the same??? A lot of eBay items make it sound like they're interchangable. Anyone here with experience? Thanks. :dunno_white:
89-98 I believe 750 was same as 600 except for the weird cable pull fitting the 750 had for rebound.
98 and later (or for sure 02 and later) the 750 was remote reservoir with same height as 600 - much better.
Cool.
Buddha.
Just found this good info . . . http://pantablo500.tripod.com/id12.html
I'm getting a 600 shock (if you steal mine off ebay I'm coming to your house and beating you with a stick!)
