I just did a carb cleaning and pilot rejet on my '89 and noticed that the nipple on the diaphragm cover is broken. It's the nipple that is used to balance the carbs. One of the P.O.'s then filled the remaining hole with the melted plastic from the nipple.
Is this a strange mod of some sort, or was it an accident? I plan on syncing the carbs once my new diaphragm cover arrives, but I first wanted to see if there was some obscure benefit to what was done.
i can imagine some poor schmuck on the side of the road in the dead of night, nothing but a screw driver, pack of smokes, and the will to melt that plastic so the bike would run again.
sometimes, shaZam! happens ;)
