Title: Question about R6 aftermarket slipon
Post by: psyber_0ptix on September 06, 2008, 07:21:44 PM
I got a slipon for real cheap; however on the wiki...the midpipe section looks a bit different. where it would connect to the header, it has a little crook/bend which throws the muffler at some extreme angle.

i am going to go to the muffler shop and they can probably cut and rotate that section to make it fit well, however was there a way to mount this up?

wiki says:

1. Cut and reweld the link pipe to get the right angle

2. Get a couple of washers and force the can outwards to clear the swing arm

number two would make it impossible to mate it to the header, i would need a ~150° flared pipe to make it work

i searched but never found a definitive answer to how to mount this or close up pictures showing modification.

obviously an exhaust shop can take care of this, but i'm not sure i trust any places in my area

Yea exhaust shop can cut and weld the mid pipe. About the only option.
Cool.
