Title: Carb rebuild kit for a 2002 GS500?
Post by: CO_GS500 on September 09, 2008, 12:53:59 PM
Greetings -

Has anyone out there found a kit (all o-rings, gaskets, maybe even diaphrams) to rebuild BSR34SS carbs?

My local dealer was aware of no such package, and could only work through individual orders for each tiny piece, leaving the burden of identifying the right part (!) on me...

I've got a scant 5,400mi on the little beast, it's running fine but for hard starting, 1/8-1/4 throttle surge, and garbage performance under 3,000rpm (all new this season but for the last item).  I'm at 6,000', so I'm not planning on messing with anything while I'm in there except maybe the pilot screw and new needle valves (depending on whether or not ethanol has messed with them).

Thanks!

I dont believe I have all the pieces for the kit ... but, how about you send it to me, I'll swap or clean or otherwise sort it out.
Yea if you dont wanna swap jets that's OK. I'll just swap O rings ... unless the ones you have is good, and the problem is elsewhere.
Cool.
