Title: Carb question
Post by: civcklr on September 09, 2008, 07:44:31 PM
Hey guys...just made a new pipe for lil bros 95 gs and while cleaning the carbs, I lost one of the jetts (?) form one of the carbs.. Its not one of the main body jets but the one in the base of the plastic frame thing in the bowl...I removed the other one so they would be the same and so I could stop by my local shop to order one and the bike seems to run just fine... Just curious as to what exactly that jet is responsible for?

Thanks.

Sounds like you're talking about a float valve?  :dunno_white: It would be easiest if you quoted a part number from the fiche. Try here:

Thanks man!     On this fiche its not labled.. Its the plastic part under #29 o ring and you can't see it from that angle but at the bottom, it has a brass jet just inside it and thats what came out..

Buddha sells assorted carb crap ... $5 each ... or less.
Jets - whole pack to rejet to near perfecting for $22. Dont put the stock pilots and mains back in.
Cool.

And under #29 there isn't nothing.
Put a pic up of the part from the other carb. I think you're talking about pilot jet.
If you're confused dude, I'll do the whole carbs clean+rejet for $45 parts and labor, not including whatever is missing. That is $5 more.
Cool.
Buddha.

I have a Mikuni Carb Tuning manual available in PDF format that I can send you if you like. Maybe this would help.

Buddha,   if you look at #29  O ring and follow the plastic L shaped peice under it, the brass jet is just inside the bottom end of it and sits near the base of the bowl..

Brass jet - dont care, you dont need either one of them, for a stock bike you need 40 pilots and 125 mains, so they fell out, good riddance, toss the other one too and both of the ones from the other carb. I have like 40-50 lying about on my garage floor ... anyone that comes to my house gets a handful ... usually they toss em back on the my driveway as they leave ...  ...
Oh ... you lost the insert in the float mechanism ... OK that may be required ... I will have to see it, but you may have to swap the whole float assy ... $5 and $5 mailing if I have it, and you buy jet pack, I can ship them together ... so that jet pack is $20 ... cos $2 was mailing.
Cool.
