I came across the Custom Dynamics L.E.D. Light Bar here http://www.customdynamics.com/knight_rider_led_light_bar.htm
It is a 12 bullb strip made to wire into existing 12 volt tail light systems. I like the night rider light that scans back and forth like K.I.T.T. from the television series and have researched and found now laws against here in Alabama. Alabama motorcycle laws are very basic. You must have at least one mirror and at least one brake. Those were specified. It didn't even say that you had to have a tailight or headlight but I am assuming you do. There are no restrictions listed for turn signals or mufflers so I guess no blinkers and straight pipes are legal but I'm not gonna try it. There is also a non-scanning version of the light bar but I don't think its as cool or would attract as much attention.
I have two ideas.
Idea #1:
Take out the stock tail light and fab up a panel to fill the hole. Paint to match. Then attach light bar to the black piece under the tail.

Idea#2:
Take out the stock tail light and remove the black piece. Fab up a piece to fill in the hole and smooth things out. Then attach the light bar to newly fabbed tail light hole cover.

What do you guys think? I am sometimes tunnel visioned and miss stuff so let's hear those opinions.
I like the first idea better. As long as you dont really plan to ride at night this should be a good idea. Those lights are not meant for stand alone brake lights i am sure.
The first idea looks good though.
i agree with bluehaze the first idea is better but if you are going to ride at night alot i would go with the 2nd idea and put 2 bars one right on top of the other or do what the sv has and put them vertical
