Title: Difference between 2002 and 2003
Post by: Joe on September 13, 2008, 02:03:37 PM
Can anyone tell me what the difference between the 2002 and 2003 models of the GS500 are?  Several websites that sell bike parts list the 2002 model but not the 2003 model.  It would lead me to believe there was some huge difference between the two years.

Cheers,
Joe

2003 was only available in non-US markets. AFAIK, they were the same as the 2002.

Same but, if you're in the States, you'll never find a 2003.

I am in Canada and bought the bike here second hand.  I would have thought Canadian and US bikes would be the same.  However, I am pretty sure it's a 2003.  I received a safety call campaign notice from suzuki informing me of a defect for 2003 to 2008 bikes.

What I really want to know is can I order bike parts from web sites that only list the 2002 model and will a repair manual that covers bikes up to 2002 be good for a 2003 bike (assuming it is a 2003 bike)?

Cheers,
Joe
