Post by: ohgood on September 13, 2008, 06:27:20 PM
Stumbled across this link to a person that at one time was considering the gs as an all electric bike:

The performace on 9hp is going to be pretty anemic...

I'd be hopping up a forklift traction motor and turning down the case, etc to lighten it up.  Think water-cooled and carbon wrapped armature.   :icon_mrgreen:

How about the motors being in the wheel(s) Ive heard of prototype elec. cars using this.  Mitsubishi was thinking of makign a version of the evo with oen in each wheel i think.  maybe im wrong and my dreams are taking over. But think about it.
A motor in each wheelhub. Batteries and the such in the area the ptwin would be, and a small cargo box in the place of the tank?  might be interesting.  brings a new definition to the term plug and play.
I wish i had bottomless pockets.   :dunno_white:

9 HP electric on a bike might do better than you think.

I saw an old landrover jeep with a 20 HP electric in it eat a newer rangerover gas in a 100 yard drag race on TV a couple of weeks ago.

Electrics are full torque from 0 to full rpms. If the rpm range is right and it's geared properly, It would run pretty good.
