any one have any experience with any gs650's? i can pick up a gs650L pretty cheap.

needs carb work. decent but not excellent cond. just trying to find out if it's a pig or would make a decent 3rd bike  :icon_mrgreen:

Robust motors, a bit of a pig ... heavy and maybe as much power as a GS ... tends to get electrical gremlins ... but no first hand experience with it.

Nothing like the old school yamaha's for electrcal gremlins though. 81-83 XS yamaha's take the cake there. Kawi's prolly are the best. Suz and honda are a bit below kawi.

Carbs ... never heard of them ... they cant go wrong can they ... naaaaaa ...

I had a GS650G around 1988, I think it was an 81 or 82 model.

Shaft drive, I wish I had kept it. It was very comfortable and plenty of power.

A bit more that the gs500.

I didn't have it long enough to have any problems with it.

Very stable on the road, not near as flickable as the gs500.

shaft drive and should look kinda like a cruiser... should be faster than the GS by a little
