Title: Anyone have set of STOCK UNDAMAGED bars they'd sell for cheap??
Post by: Trwhouse on September 17, 2008, 11:40:29 AM
Hi all,
Someone knocked my 1991 GS500E over in a parking lot and it slightly bent the stock handlebars.
Does anyone have a set of UNDAMAGED black stock handlebars that they took off and aren't using anymore that they'd like to sell for cheap?
Let me know ASAP before I order a new set later this week.
Thanks,
Trwhouse
P.S. Give me a price with shipping to Zip 17520, please!

I've got a set of black ones from a '93 that are a little rusty.  You'd probably better off just getting some new bikemaster bars though as they're new and just as cheap as OEM replacements.   Let me know if you still want them though.

How much are you ordering the new set for?

Hi there,
How rusty are the bars you have? They're not bent at all?
I really like the stock bars, and at one point tried out the Superbike and Daytona aftermarket bends on my bike but ended up staying with the stock bars.
The aftermarket bars were just not to my liking on the bike, but thanks for the suggestions.
I'd like to stay with stock bars. :)
Yours,
Trwhouse

I have some stock bars in perfect condition I'll sell you. If you are in the continental US I'll hook you up for $30 shipped. I can do a pic tonight if you want, but they are perfect.

Hi there,
Yes, I'd love to get a photo if you can.
They are black stock bars, with the threaded inserts in the ends for the bar end weights?
If so, cool.
Thanks, man.

Mine are off an '07- they use the expando plug bar ends, so if you need threaded ones these are not for you.

I have a set off my 99' with the metal inserts for the thread-in bar ends. Unfortunately I already sold the bar ends, but still have just the bars.

$15+shipping?

Hey there coll,
Thanks for the offer.  :)
These bars are not damaged or bent from a fall or crash?
You are sure they are straight, because from the photo, they appear to be a bit tweaked.
If you are sure they are straight, then I'd be interested in them. :)
Did you replace your bars with something else?
The paint looks scratched on these bars. Or is that a photo illusion? :)
Let me know what shipping would be to Zip 17520?
And thanks again, bub.
I appreciate your helping me out.
Yours,
Trwhouse
P.S. You wouldn't have a left rider's footpeg rubber you can throw in too, would you?  :)

Not my bars, but the paint looks that way because that is all under the controls and bar clamps- they will all look that way unless you go brand new. :thumb:

Hey there coll,
I still haven't heard back you, man.
Let me know about the bars, if you could.
I really need them.
And your bars for your 1999 bike are the same part number, same bends for a 1991 GS500?
Thanks, and let me know about when you can ship them ASAP!
Best wishes,
Trwhouse  :)
