Title: Any experience with M2R helmets?
Post by: theUBS on September 17, 2008, 10:53:33 PM
I just happened to see a closeout price on a helmet I'm somewhat interested in while browsing online.  It's the M2R GP1 helmet.  It seems to have some decent features for the price, and I figure it's GOT to be a little better than my cheapo THH:

Anyone know anything about it?

I have an M2R helmet and like it very much. The fit was perfect right from the start and I was able to buy a dark tint shield from a local dealer. It's a bit nosier than my old Shoei, but for the price I paid I just bought ear plugs for highway riding.

I have one, it came with my bike.  Lots of wind noise, replacement/tinted shields are hard to come by.  Looks cool though.

Noticed the price..I got an almost new Scorpion ex700 for 45.00 on ebay.New it runs about 200.00.It's the best helmet I've had! Low wind noise, plenty of air flow.Visor goe's on and comes off great. I've had great customer service also.I had a back vent missing when I bought it.Called Scorpion products to buy a replacement. She took my address and I asked how much. She said NO CHARGE! got the vent in 3 days...My next new helmet will be a Scorpion!
It's really a personal thing choosing a helmet.Go with what you like.

I'm a huge fan of the Scorpion Exo700 helmets. You can get some really good deals on them for not much more than the one you are looking at here:http://sportbiketrackgear2.homestead.com/exo700helmets.html

if you scroll down you will see the previous years designs on closeout- I got mine with a tinted sheild shipped for $185 but you can get the straight helmet for as low as $119 if they still have the size/color you like. I do think those M2R helmets look nice, but looks don't matter if it isn't comfortable
