Title: AntiFreeze
Post by: madrazo on September 19, 2008, 07:36:52 AM
Does anyone know at what intervals we need to change our antifreeze?

Does it take a special kind? Lost my manual bout a year ago.

When you change the fan-belt and use antifreeze thats intended for air cooled engines only..........ask your local dealer for it......and a spare fan-belt.

Also, it's crucial to torque down the zag nuts every 1200 miles. :icon_lol:

How do you guys put the rear handbrake on? I keep my foot out of the way to not knock it going along but im not sure how im ment to make it stay on when im parked. Also does anyone else have a problem reaching it? They could have put it in a better place i think.

Ahh sledge, have you not? You have to flick the switch, its just under the tank, they call it the petcock, i think that means reverse in japanese. It never worked for me though the engine always stopped when i tried going backwards. So ive always just pushed it.

Incidentally, whats that extra stand on the left for? i thought it was for stopping the bike falling over on a corner since it doesnt have extra wheels like a car, then i couldn't work out why they didn't put one on the other side?! help please?!

Antifreeze is good against GS cold bloodiness , just mix one spoonful before breakfast on an empty tank

and no chocking required  :thumb:

Ahhh i knew it would be something clever like that, you see i never think of these things.

That must be why pandy is having so many problems, shes got an SV hasnt she? I don't think they fitted mid corner stablisers to her bike, or did they just do it to the wrong side?

I thought the OP was pulling our legs....did I miss something?

By the way, I just bought my first helmet and I find I can't see much of the road. Also that big slot in the back lets a draught down the back of my neck.

I have one thing i wish i could go back and change, i once met the most amazing girl i think il ever meet, and had the oppertunity to ask her out and i think if i would have done we would still be together now, however i was way too afriad/nervous whatever and didn't and now were the best friends and shes gone and got a boyfriend and i had a girlfriend for about 4 years until she turned psycho, but still sometimes when were hanging out and having a great time i wish i could have gone back to that moment!

However you never know what the future holds!

When I first got the GS, I was going over the list of Requirements for the first track day.  "X - done, Y - done, Z - done.  Oh, I have to change to Water Wetter..."  *husband gives me a disgusted look*  "...never mind."

If no one has said yet, it's a stock GS500F light mounted with some kind of aftermarket mounting system.  It is sweet and if I ever go from F to E, I'm keeping my headlight.

The best way to get over an ex is to f%$k her best friend or her mother........or both.  If that doesn't make you feel better, I suggest buying advertising space in your local newspaper and filling it with blatant slander.
