140 /60s fit the rear with no problem.  120s usually fit the front too.  Check out the tire details on the gs500 wiki page.

Read through the wiki ..thx... but didnt notice anyone ever running a 60 series tire. Was concerned with the lower profile (60) series and how it affects handeling/ height issues...bike will obviously be lower...can link be moved to higher setting to get legs at proper position? Just thought puttin some radials may improve ride and at the cost of a bias ply.

The difference in height will be 5mm (less than 1/4 inch), you'll never notice it. :thumb:

Gr8 to know...thx...So by all accounts this would be a good combonation for the GS with no clearance issues???? :dunno_white:

I don't think you'll have any clearance issues, but if you put a 120/60 on the front, your speedo might be off just a tad more.  In all honesty, I know nothing of Shinko tires, or if trading your bias-ply tires for inexspenive radials will make you any happier.  Gsjack is probably at the top of the list of people to discuss your tire choices with.  :thumb:  Good luck!

If you put the 120/70 on the front, you'll have just a little less speedo error, or just use the 110/70, there's no need for a wider front tyre.

I know a friend who runs those shinkos on his 330hp turbo busa and SV650 with no issues.  they're good tires, just not well known by the general population because they sound like cheapo chinese junk, but arent junk.
