Title: My new toy! (pic heavy)
Post by: Daniely on September 19, 2008, 11:52:01 AM
Just picked up a YSR 50 that is SO MUCH DAMN FUN! So far here are the mods:

I put a spare set of CFM rearsets from my TL1000r on it (had to modify the frame). Team calamari upper triple clamp. Second fork spring, new bushings. Extended swingarm, with rear disc brake conversion. 2001 GSXR tail in the mail (mini sized). Nothing done to the motor yet, but shes a work in progress. I should have the elctrical run and everything all set next week. Let me know what yall think!!

This is how i got her, in 6 boxes lol...

This weekend assuming my tail gets here it will get painted and put on. I plan on finishing up the pegs (just gotta sand and repaint) and getting the electrical run. Also gotta pick up the new swingarm and install that as well as the new rear hub containing the disc brake. Thanks for takin the time to check it out!

Well I figured I would post some long overdue update pictures lol.

here she is all finished up and running!

When I went to assemble the motor (which I was told was whole) I found out I was missing one crucial part....the piston....lol. At that point we went ahead and bored out the cylinder 4.5mm, and rebuilt the carb. She runs like a dream now :) :) :).

You probably register it as a custom scooter.

Yes it's legal, and it's plated as a motorcycle :) not a custom construction. This was a production road bike produced by Yamaha to compete with the likes of the NSR and Derbi (though not really the Derbi).

It seems the smaller the bike the more fun it may be  :woohoo:

Nice ride but do you feel a bit well little around the rest of the crazy people on the round???

I would feel like I would get ran over, maybe that's just me

Wow, great job! Any plans on hooking her up to a dyno to see if she puts out as good as she looks?

There is a new shop in town that does Dyno but i honestly never thought of running it lol, good idea. I will consider it!

I mainly use it to tool around and run errands, hit bike nights with it. I don't trust society enough for it to be more than a novelty honestly lol.
