Title: Mitsubishi screwed me over again!!!!!!!!!
Post by: im your legacy on September 19, 2008, 02:16:55 PM
I was finally able to figure out how to reattach all the cab hoses and i was routing the the last hose on the bottom near black 3 way valve assembly or w/e its called. Then i realized one of the nipples are missing and i cant find it anywhere.  So i eventually ended up finding it inside of the plastic tubing and attempted to use crazy glue to fit it back on. Then i turned it over and saw the Diamond Star logo which is trade mark of Mitsubishi.  I've already found a replacement part on bike bandit and its # 47 on the parts diagram. My Question is whats its purpose in relation to the carbs?

You say it is part 47?  on one of the carb diagrams 47 is the valve assembly and the other carb diagram 47 is a slide?  If it is the part I believe you are speaking of, it is a plastic 3-way piece that connects each of the two carbs to a hose?  their are two parts like this, one is on the bottom and one on the top of the carb.  The one on the top is a atmosphere vent and it does not necessarily have to be connected to the hose, just do not block it off.  The 3-way part on the bottom of the carb, I am not 100% sure, but I think it connects to the fuel somehow and definately needs connected.

I am fairly new to the GS, I have only had one for about one year, but the 3-way connecting the vent was torn on mine.  I was worried that it would cause issues by not being hooked up, but I was soon corrected and told that it is ok to just leave it open and to definately not try to close it off.  I hope this helps.

Yeah its the 3 way part on the bottom of the carbs. That connects both lines. It's obviously a device that measures the vac/ fuel?  :cookoo:

Anyways Thanks again Wayne.
