The PO of my bike totally screwed up the fuel system as I've alluded to in other threads. I've got the new CRF petcock and I'm all set to install it with all new fuel line. The problem is that the location that I think the petcock goes seems all wrong. It doesn't seem that one can fit there due to the airbox being in the way. I think if it did go there then it would cause some issues with the fuel lines. I've posted a pic below. can anyone confirm that is the correct location of the petcock?

I think someone posted a while ago and they said it would fit if you had the K+N filter, otherwise you had to make a bracket to give it a bit more room??

For a while there I thought I had a good excuse to get a new exhaust and a lunchbox...oh well.

The frame petcock is very time consuming when tuning the carbs. you must loosen it( leave it hanging on the outside) to get the airbox out and pull the carbs. Also must be left loose when reinstalling the airbox, therefor much more time. You also must be sure that the one line from the tank, the breather/vacum tube, and the line to the carbs all fit in that notch in the airbox, not fun while tuning. You got it right though, next step get a K&N to free up some space and give her some air!
I used a bolt and 3 nuts to attach it to the locating hole just rearward from the mounting hole. I put the bolt in from the back side, so it functions as a stud. I put a nut on it to hold the stud in place, then another nut at the proper distance to locate the Honda petcock, then another nut to hold the petcock onto the stud.
With the Honda petcock mounted the way I mounted it here, you don't have to remove the petcock to remove the airbox.
