I just got a 2002 gs500 with 20,000 miles for $1,200.00, I know it would be an awesome deal if it were in perfect shape but...
It has been down on both sides is missing the mirrors and the muffler is dented/scraped.
The tank has dents on both sides where the bars smacked into it and everything is just generally scratched up.
The good news is that all the damage is cosmetic and the engine/transmission seem to function perfectly, I took it for a test ride and couldn't find anything wrong with the way it drives.
So, what do you guys think was this a good, moderate, or bad deal?
if its truly mendicancy fine then ya. i would have bought it if that means anything to you. Cosmetics are easyer to fix and can be delayed for a long time.
post some pics of it
Mine has minor dents in the tank where the bar ends hit too. But you can hardly see them. My exhaust is also scratched. The bike has been ridden!
And crashed!!!lol
I bought mine, (a 2001 with 7k miles) before the cosmetic damages for 1200 but it needed tires, a battery, and a new lock thing on the gas tank. Put about 500 into it.
Sounds like a great deal!
Sounds fair to me... now...
POST SOME PICS !!!

thanks for the responses, I feel better now. I have paid for the bike but can't pick it up until this weekend  I can't wait for the ride home, I will post some pics in a week.
I'd say its a decent deal. get her home and change the oil in her before you take her out ANYWHERE. thats like my #1 thing on any bike that I didnt actually watch the previous owner change the oil in it, it will be suspect and therefore changed with fresh known new oil.
