Well, think thats all for now, hope u like the bike and im here for anyone who needs some help....
(Sorry for my bad english, im learnig a new language for me).
AHHH, i forget to tell that the final vel on my gs is : 219 km :icon_razz:
post some pics i would really like to see that build sounds nice
Sorry pic was not showing ok, now yes.....
looks good. :)
I am interested in the CDI, how does it give more power at low revs?
Modified the original power curve to a custom one so it can give more power at low ranges, mid up rev it doesnt have variations.
I didnt do this myself, just bought it here in my country to one who dedicates to make special electronique devices for bikes.
sorry for my bad english...
I like it! Can you show us pictures of the driveshaft conversion? What modification did you make to the cylinder head? camshaft?
:thumb:
Looks pretty good pal! :thumb:
LOL everyone from overseas apologizes for their bad english and it is still always better than our American! LOL awesome bike dude, I am partial to the '93's myself!
hey completely off the wall but I'm curious if they sell mics and calipers in Argentina or is that the machinests at Fiasa have no idea how to use them? I work for the American West Windmill company...you may not have heard of Fiasa or AWWC but I digress...curiosity just gets me...
Pretty sweet GS there, though.

you know, there are still some old timers (teaching pups!) that still have a feel for calipers/bores/fits and don't -
need- a micrometer to make things fit, right ? very very few and far between though :(
i like off the wall.
yeah I'm sure there's some out there...I can wing stuff...but shaZam! these guys are taking the keys to lock gears on shafts and grinding the sides down so they'll slide in easier on 8ft and 10ft windmills and on to accomplish this on 6ft windmills they're machining the shaft key slot .020" too deep! Grinding the keys is a nooby mistake. Every shaft being cut .020" too deep is a machinist's mistake.
Of course they know how to use mics and calipers. Look at their firearms.....Bersa, FM, military FAL's. Very well made. I suppose they might ask the same question of us and the Chevy's and Fords etc. we force on them. Good Grief.
sorry, i try to undestand but really cant, im a lil slow in this language, can someone explain me that of the calipers, windmills, shaft, etc?
Is that picture before of after the driveshaft mod? ;)
That picture is after the modification, i had to do it cause a defective front sprocket ate the internal teeth of the original driveshaft, the GS450 driveshaft has the same measurements than de 500 where the gears go except where the chain sprocket goes, here its 4 mm shorter and it doesnt have the circlip, the only modification i had to do to fit it correctly was making a 4mm spacer between de sprocket and de end of the driveshaft and another modification was to take those mm from the part where the rearl wheel sprocket stays for aligning the chain.

Nice mods - just a question on the 600 kat carb - was it plug-n-play or did you have to do something else on it? Thanks.
davesgs - If I may interrupt ...
Kat 600 has the same carbs as GS except there is 4 of them ... same 33mm, atleast the US versions did. The carbs we want is the 36mm off the GSXR's 89-92 1100's had em. Maybe in other countries ... or the 750's or 1100 kat's had larger carbs.
Cool.
Buddha.

In case your wondering, I asked because when i thought drive shaft I thought of say, an 82 gs650g...a shaft going to the rear wheel...it never crossed my mind about the one you are refering to. I just thought, driveshaft...and theres a chain in the pic...wierd. lol.... :cookoo:
Who chisled the nut off?
lmao...ive done that before...chisels should be in every redneck toolbox.
shiznizbiz:
lol dude, never talked about a 82 GS650g, just said that i have a GS450 driveshaft... the drive shaft is the 24131-01D00 code in this bike and i wrote it as modification cause the original from de 500 is with a circlip at the top and this is with a nut, safer for me cause stays tightner on the shaft avoiding movements that will cost serious damage....
sledge:
nobody chisled the nut, maybe is the bad quality of the pic that seems that.

Oh...ok.
I know you didnt mention a 650g...I was just sayign, when I think drive shaft, Im think of shaft going from the tranny to the wheel. like a bmw, or a h-d, or a gs650g.
Gosh...just saying why i was thrown off. The pic didnt match my brains misconception.
