Title: Idea for belly pan / cowl / chin spoiler mounting brackets.
Post by: Danny500 on September 23, 2008, 06:37:43 PM
I know the stock brackets for the optional chin-spoiler/cowling run 40 bucks for ONE...  :cookoo: SO I was looking for alternatives to mounting it.

I was thinking of using those light-weight chrome $10 a pair headlight mounts they sell for mopeds/choppers/bobbers etc. They're just a plate steel stamping that could be bent to fit around the square frame AND be bent to contour needed to mate with the cowl.

The only thing is that I'm going to have to rubber-mount them to the frame using some sort of thin rubber strapping, maybe an old dodge-ball or something will work to cut up.

What have you guys used? I think this'll work alright as long as the bracket goes around the frame.

Something like this:

Go to lowes or home depot and look through their electrical supplies stuff...look for conduit brackets.
