Title: any electrical geniuses???
Post by: tripleb on September 24, 2008, 06:14:41 PM
I've installed a new clutch perch but the wiring is from a newer model than I had before.  My issue is that the wiring that goes into the clutch perch didn't match up exactly and I had to strip the wires and now I'm not exactly sure how to attach the wires to the prongs.  I ran the wire through the hole in the prongs but I'm not sure how to secure them now.  Any ideas from you electrical guys?

OK, I'll take a stab at it.  But I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to do.

You are wiring the clutch switch?  If so, it is two wires, right?  If so, just hook 'em up!  Either way will work.

<edit>
I just read your post again.  Maybe you need to know how to secure the wire to the prongs in a way that will be a sound electrical connection?  If so, use a soldering pencil, about 35 watts should do it.  PM me if you want soldering tips.

Post a picture up of what you are trying to connect.  I suspect that the solution that you're looking for is spade connectors.  :dunno_white:

Solder the clutch switch wires together and be forever free of POS clutch switch problems. If you start it in gear with WOT and clutch out and kill yourself, you deserved it (see Darwin Awards).  :laugh: :laugh:
