Dude somehting just struck me when I saw the pic of the GS caliper ...
You running a GS mastercyl in the katana brake system you have ...
That may explain the hard as a rock and no brakes ...
I am pretty sure the ID on the kat master cyl is 14/15mm ... GS was 11 I think or 12 ...
You may not be pushing enough fluid ...
Cool.

^ yes and photo bucket is uploading at im typing this so hopfully it will be done here in 20ish mins.

i loved the bars i really did but my Kat front end is better haha

i will be 100 honest with you i did drop the bike as i was putting it on the center stand for the kat swap im about 99.9% sure it didn't bend the bars they look straight and the felt straight when i picked it up and got it on the center stand but i didn't ride it after i dropped it till the kat front end was on. so their is a super slim chance they are bent but like i said im pretty freakin sure they arn't

hmm  :\ i'm trying to replace some slightly bend stockers that just bug me. is there ~any~ way to measure how straight bars are? i guess that would be a bit difficult huh

Oh ... I thought you are sending me the black triple back when I make the magic piece for the dash ...
No ?
bwaaaaa ... you should ship me free cos you havta send me the kat triple ... extra weight you say ... bwaaaa ... OK ...

Let me fully decide and if you're sending me this and then other things later ... may be sensible to just ship 1 time, not like I am in a hurry for much, I ahve 5 triple sets and only 4 sets of legs ... But yea 600 lower triple and stem of course and the 750 upper triple pieces so far are in. 750 tubes being bent ... bad, but I have some 750 tubes I stole from werase643, never figured out what to do with that crap ... shhhh ...
Cool.

dang son i should just make you a box price for everything

i think your talking about the black tripple laying under the 750 tripple - thats the other half of the 750 tripple they do a double stack like stock GS does

and i can add the 600 handle bar mount and the GS upper tripple.

anything eles you want or can i box it up and come up with a price? haha

Sorry man.  I'd let you have  them except I have a bike in the garage that's missing both complete front pegs.  I thought you were getting some from 3imo or Buddha.  Passed them up  there when I saw your post.  Anyway, good luck getting what you need.

Hey there buddha,
I still haven't heard back from you on the left front rider's footpeg rubber you thought you might have.
Did you find one in nice shape for me amid all your stuff or amid the stuff you are getting from 3imo or someone?
I think I found bars from coll412 but am still searching for this footpeg in undamaged shape.
Let me know ASAP if you have one I can count on for cheap.
Thanks, man.

Yea and that weird 4 bolt hole thingy that has the ears for fitting somehting ... that.
Now with a kat 750 assy, please include everything ... the doughnuts and grommets and bolt s and sleeves ... dunno what is same as GS, and heck I am not too careful with the GS stuff I chop up ... so those doughnuts are going to be useful ...
Cool.

K I'll look through and you can have it ... just pay shipping ... what I'm worried about is ... "undamaged" ... you bike is rather nice looking much unlike mine was when it had that blue body on it ... but anyway ... I'll show you what I have. Pick one and its yours.

OOO thats the top shock mount for a 91 GSXR shock im keepin that guy if i need to bolt the shock up to a solid mount again to work on it

i didn't figure it into the price anyway
Title: Re: GS front end and other parts
Post by: The Buddha on October 05, 2008, 07:48:35 PM
Whaaaa ... so that's what it is ... it cannot be used on a GS, people fit those newer 96 and later top mount things ... cos they are a clevise with a tail bolt ... you can do a ride height adjustment with a washer if you had that ... but this is not useable on a GS ...anyway ... no problem ...
Cool.

ya you would have to do some SEROUS frame work to get that thing bolted in the frame.

not sure why they didn't make the top shock mount part of the frame on the GSXR

ill PM you a couple shock questions

Hey Mdow ... I have another thought about how the bars fit your bike ...
I think you have 750 handle tubes in the 600 knuckles. The tubes sink less in the 600 knuckles cos the 750's are made for that single center notch ... A 600 tube in a 600 knuckle will be sticking out 1-2 mm to the inside ... that extra room you get ~1 inch makes it fit ... You are actually better off pushing it through and notching the right spot on the tube.
Cool.
Buddha.

negitive ghost rider.

i was going to use the 750 handles but the notch for the holding bolt was about an inch too wrong and i really didn't feel like notching them

im using the handle bars that came on the 89 kat 600 upper tripples never taken them out

OK, you have stock GS grips ? and if not, your grips dont hang over the end of the bar ?
BTW katana grips will be the ones that exacerbate the problem, they are thicker and longer.
Cool.

Stock GS controls and grips and no over hang
Title: Re: GS front end and other parts
Post by: The Buddha on October 06, 2008, 05:18:15 PM
OK that is where you've compensated ... GS grips are skinnier and not that cushy and are shorter than kat grips. Kat 600 handle tubes are a shade longer than 89 GS tubes.
The typical brake banjo issues come when you are running kat grips in 89 handle tubes or even sometimes kat grips on kat tubes.
Cool.

Mdow - That is a preorder for what I was telling you about 1-2 months ago.

I dunno if you still want that or are happy with what you have ...

If you dont want that, I guess just send me the stock kat 600 triple, and the stock GS triple and I'll put a bullet in the thing and call it a day. Cos I sure as hell am happy welding ears on the kat triple, so I dont quite care ...

Cool.
