Title: Darnit Darnit choke idle dead
Post by: alois71 on September 27, 2008, 02:32:54 PM
First let me premis this by saying I hate carbuerators.  I don't feel comfortable with them mounted, on my coffee table or anywhere else.

So I got my bike together. Yes, my hoses are connected correctly me thinks. i put the coke all the way on and my baby starts.... idles for 4 min and dies. I start it again, and cannot get it of the choke for the life of me because it dies. Now it only turns over and doesn't star. Probably flooded.

I have a feeling it could be the adjustments on the carbs  but I have no idea which one. Does this sound like a spark plug problem? Suggestions please.

if the battery is low, it's harder to star tthe bike. check that.

check your float height. if it's too low, it will mess with everything.

check your plugs. are they wet ?

check your intake boots. if they're cracked it MIGHT run on choke, and die any other time. high idle usually means vacuum leak and/or throttle adjustment.
