Hi guys,
Im about to head of to university for ten weeks and i was just wondering what i should do to the bike before it gets left in a garage for that long. I was definitely going to drain the carbs and tank, lube up the chain and stick it under a sheet. Anything else worth doing? Its not going to be left standing for ages but its over 2 months before its going to be ridden again.

I don't know that I would drain the tank. I might just fill it up, add some Sta-bil and make sure it's completely run through the carbs. Unless you have your tank rust proofed, having it empty might just allow more of an opportunity for rust to form. Granted, I'm not sure how soon that would actually happen, when compared to how long you'll be gone.
yup, tank topped off, with gas stabilizer in it, run it (i usually throw the stabil in at the closest gas station to my house and ride home) and do the sheet thing

how exactly do you 'drain the carbs' .. i'm putting my baby to sleep for the winter and won't see her 'til next spring... there are varying opinions if this needs to be done our not so i thot i'd do it but can't find out exactly how ...
can anyone point me in the right direction?
